18 is the legal age to be an adult but I might would go younger depending on the circumstances. I almost said 17 & a half because I 'm in love with Miranda Cosgrove & she'll be 18 in two months. I'm more like a kid than an adult in a lot of ways. I'd have a lot more to offer someone a bit younger

My little brother's girl friend was the spit image of Miranda Cosgrove. I'd be jealous, but I don't find her all that cute for some reason. That and she was judgmental and shallow, even for an NT.

Looks have little to do with it. As for as idols, celebs, actors, & music artist go; she's one of the best role-models out there & seems more mature & responsible than a lot of adults; doesn't seem shallow either compared to most anyone else.
I should shut-up about her before I derail another thread

I'd say ten years. Although I have chatted with guys as young as 21 on OK cupid (could have been younger who really knows).

my mental age is stuck around 25 or so.

so i guess it would be very nice to have a partner that mentally would be compatible and comparable.

Whatever the law dictates, in the US age of consent varies from 16-18 state by state (although society has deemed dating a younger women odd, wrong, and turned younger girls off to the idea) I would date someone as old as 34 and I am 26.

I'll go along with this- the Michael Jackson defence. Although i've known an 18 year old and a 21 year old and neither were mature enough to go out with someone like me with all my baggage . For a relationship a woman of a similar age would probably be best.

You can't apply this rule when you're 17 ....13 is very young, once you're >22 it's all fine.

Probably 30, but if someone younger (but over eighteen) caught my eye and had things in common we could talk about, I'd consider her. I dated a girl that was 25 a couple years ago, but we just didn't have all that much in common, so it didn't last long.

I have a 3 year rule either way. No younger than 25 and no older than 31.

LOL I know someone who went out with a 20 something year old while she was 15. While that's clearly rather odd, I don't think two teenagers going out is... A 13 year old and a 17 year old would be fine if both parties were comfortable and didn't do anything sexual until they were both at the age of consent (if these two people were in Spain, that criteria would already be filled, too :P).

When I was 20 I was in a relationship with a 15year-old; it was mostly internet thou because of distance; we never had sex.
One of my neigbors was running around with a 21year-old guy when she was about 13 who was giving her drugs & stuff & the cops wouldn't do anything about it. Also one of my former work colleagues 14year-old daughter was dating a 23year-old & there was nothing he could do about it because him & her mom were divorced & she had primary custody. Also one of my dad's work colleagues 15year-old daughter was dating a guy who was about 30; he moved in with her because she got pregnant. I can give numerous examples of women who are barely legal age going out with much much older guys. But when I make a comment about liking someone who's a teenager; some people including the psychs I've saw are extremely quick to judge me as a pedophile when it's NOT a sexual thing; I'm a borderline asexual. If I were f#*king a girl who was underage; no one in my area would care but liking a girl who's underage because I feel we are more relatable makes me a pedophile'; it's freaking retorted in my area

I've often wondered why society doesn't distinguish between romantic relationships and sexual ones. The assumption that if people are dating then they must be having sex is illogical and unjustifed to me.

For most people, a romantic relationship includes a sexual component. What Nick is describing is unusual (not not in any way bad) so it's logical that most people have never considered such a relationship to be anything but a friendship.
