That's the whole point. When it's done well, and the penguins were done very well, people do believe them. The BBC ran a trailer for a documentary on this previously unreported species. You can watch it here:

I fell hook, line and sinker for an April Fool in a national newspaper a few years ago. Their article claimed that Tony Blair had had the door of Downing Street repainted from it's 100s of years old traditional black to the colour of the labour party, red. Flouting all sorts of planning and conservation laws. They even had pictures of it being done. I was completely outraged and was fuming about it. It was only later when they were laughing about it in Parliament that I realised I'd been had.

Really. Why are people still posting in this OPEN thread on this ACTIVE forum that has an attention grabbing subject line and controversial comments? Y'all are just snobby mcsnobbersons who are all up high horses and sh*t. Get over yourselves. It's not like it's relevant to discuss how lies and misrepresentations can be taken literally and turn into cruel "jokes" on A FORUM FOR AUTISM AND ASPERGERS. It's not like any of you have been told repeatedly throughout your whole lives that your feelings don't matter and you cannot take a joke. Don't you realize that just saying APRIL FOOLS at the end of whatever we want to say makes it perfectly okay to say BS and upset you?! It's April 5th. Any feelings you may have had on April 1st are totally irrelevant now. Get over it. My god people. Get a life or something.
