I interpreted it the same way. I (and some of my psychiatrists) have questioned with I have Aspergers or HFA. I'm..."accelerated" cognitively, and tee-totally effed up in all other aspects.

Do you mean that as whether you're on the spectrum at all, or whether precisely it's a case of aspergers or precisely a case of HFA?

I'm suspecting the former. I was watching this youtube video called "How to be gifted" and one of the 'fundamental traits' of the giftedness was literalness (Among "Procrastination", "Manganimous Semantemes"(Big words) and "Sarcasm"), and I kind of wonder if "aspie literalness" might be similar to the "literalness" typical of giftedness. I'm really curious about the exact differences - maybe the gifted tend to be caught offguard at first glance but eventually resolve it whereas aspies "never" get it?

I commonly get the compulsion to correct people, but I've learned that tends to be piss people off, so I usually let it slide if it isn't 'critical'.

I have my "know it all" (Well, more like, "Know more than others") moments in the class-room which then incites the collective groan of the students. They seem be somewhat fine with it, though, as long as I make a joke here and there to compensate.

Interesting. I used to think "I can talk for hours about these particular subjects, but why doesn't anyone seem to care about them? I assume they aren't interested in the subject." and then I would I use that argument to support the assertion that I had "excellent memory", which I've been kind of doubting recently. I also thought maybe that being a "storehouse of knowledge" would 'count' for something (Like, you know, how society has its many specializations - you have the comedian, the empathic advice giving person, the knowledgeable wunderkind, and so on), but no one seems to care at all.

That's society. *shakes head* Only males get so many differentiated categories, 'a**hole' and 'bastard' among the most popular. Those names just get straight to the point.
