^ You don't put people in boxes or pigeon-holes? That's good if it's along those lines :)

yeah, that's what i was trying to say. i would try to give people a chance and not pre-judge them.

i missed your odd reaction.

i am not ashamed of who i dated or anything like that. he turned out not to be the right person for me, as he continued to make bad choices about his future that i couldn't live with. but he was still a human being who was worthwhile for me to know.

at least part of his life was good if not the rest of it. it's better than nothing

yes, i hoped for him that he could find it in himself to gain momentum and keep the positives going, but he could not. ultimately he and i were not compatible for other reasons, but in terms of a criminal record not every ex-convict is a write-off - my dad reformed and was a model citizen and had no problems with the law again.

It depends on what they where in for and honestly I would probably would have to have been dating them first as I cannot really date someone if I have not met them in person...I dated a dude who was convicted of a felony, the trouble is he did not really do anything other then bring a sword to a gun fight so to speak. basically a guy pulled a gun on him and he pulled a sword then the cops showed up and of course guy with the gun hid it and convinced the police he pulled the sword on him for no reason. But things did not work out because of a crazy ex or something I dont really know or care anymore I just miss him sometimes.

Anyone who wants to date an inmate is f*****g nuts. If you want to live dangerously, go listen to Michael Bolton.

while your humour is appreciated, i think you miss the point of why some people date felons. felons are not inherently more dangerous than dating any other member of society if they did not commit a violent crime. for example car thieves are not "dangerous" to my person any more than car salesmen are.

Yeah but at least car salesmen don't pose a threat to your no-claims bonus.

I think legally and physically (in terms of which prisons) there needs to be a more clear distinction between violent crime and non-violent crime, but that's another discussion

:P perhaps, but they are equally likely to take you for a ride!
