Anyway, yes, I'm also gay and almost engaged to this guy. We both have AS but if anything it helps us get on because we have very similar personality types in many ways.
And um... I don't think anyone who'se straight could be knocked into thinking they're gay because girls aren't interested in them. Most adolescents who identify as being gay do so because they have very real same-sex attractions, and while a small number go on to be straight as adults, it's rarely a phase.
Also, I've read a study (can't remember where, I'd have to dig it out) which said there's a small correlation between autistic spectrum disorders and the incidence of bisexuality and homosexuality. Whereas most psychologists and sociologists would agree that around 10% of the general public is gay or bi, some studies have suggested that as many as 20-25% of people with ASDs are gay or bisexual.
