Actual translation: "I'm still so caught up in my adolescent fantasy that (insert supermodel name here) will actually date me, I turn down everyone else. And I'm nasty about it, because they ought to know I'm saving myself for her."

That is SO true (and the rest of what you said). You see the ugliest boy chatting up a pretty girl who is walking past me, then they look at me and they get a disgusted look on their face, LOL.

I understand that teenagers are deluded, but thinking they can get a hot girl is just plain stupid. I'm so glad I'm not a teenager anymore and that guys my age are more mature.

And there are enough sensitive, loving, caring (aka, desperate) men out there who are willing to change the diapers if it means they can get any kind of female attention.

The portion bolded (by me) is illuminating.

You know, what's sad is that when I saw the thread titled "Shaming tactics against males" I immediately knew it was written by The_Face_Of_Boo before I looked at it. When I saw this thread, I immediately knew it was written by hale_bopp. Draw whatever conclusions you want from that. You can get mad at me all you want, but many people probably thought the same thing before looking at these two threads. I'm just the one that came out and said it.

I am not sure what all that was supposed to mean...

It means you're very predictable.

Thanx for opening this thread! Now, here's some of the things I know about men...

What a man says --> What he really means

"I like a woman who appreciates traditional values." --> I want the house clean, the laundry done, the kids quiet, and food on the table when I get home ... and I don't want to hear any bullsnot about having a "headache" tonight, either.

"Anything you wear is fine." --> Just put something on already! I'm gonna be scoping out the other women there, anyway...

"Yes, I think your sister's cute." --> I'd do that piece in a heartbeat. Scha-WANG!! !

"The kids are fine; don't worry!" --> I'm vaguely aware of the presence of some small people around here; but since I don't hear any blood-curdling screams, everything must be okay.

"It's a guy thing." --> It involves sweat, bruises, splinters, blood, alcohol, power tools, and the strong possibility of projectile vomiting.

Oh, geebus ... I'm such a hater!

Oh, how I wish that were true! It would make things so much easier, if it were. But, unfortunately, many men can be equally as bad as women when it comes to not saying what they really mean. Just look at the rest of your list and the translations needed.

EDIT: I think I misread what you were saying there, Fnord. I thought you were stating "What a man says = What he really means." Nevermind, lol.

What a strategic move of yours, posting inflammatory opinions about different groups of men in a thread that is already misandrist.

And your "truth" is only your opinion because I am offended by it!

Pretty sure there's no right to not be offended.

Taken from the TOS reminder(at the top of this section):

While we understand that many members here have had very frustrating dating (or non-dating) experiences, and that such experiences can lead them to make negative generalizations about the gender involved, Wrong Planet has rules that prohibit any remarks that can be deemed sexist or that make negative generalizations about all members of a gender:

1. Posting offensive language, comments, video, or images.
Unacceptable content includes swearing; racist, sexist, homophobic language; behavior intended to provoke or belittle other members; violent or sexually demeaning content; sexual fetish; and discussion of excretory function. Posting graphic images or videos of people or animals being harmed is prohibited.

This should be a forum where both men and women can be comfortable trying to figure out what is going on in their lives. Generalizations along the lines of "all women are shallow" or "all men are jerks" interfere with that, and are offensive to the members of the gender mentioned. Please be careful to NOT make conclusions or statements that extend beyond your personal experience and the particular people involved.

We try to allow every opinion but if someone complains about something being offensive(and its in fact offensive) we politely ask the member to remove it because otherwise it leads to flame wars which means even more work for us(contacting several members at least once, editing their posts...).

Yeah, so there's no right to not be offended beyond the definitions of offensive conduct as determined by Wrong Planet.

Thanks.
