I wouldn't mind a guy who plays video games on occasion but generally speaking I'm not attracted to men who are essentially couch potatoes. I say this as a person who used to play a ton of video games so it's not that I don't appreciate them or understand that they're fun, but there are more important and productive things to do in life.

Most women have no interest in video games at all though. I'm sure they wouldn't mind if their boyfriends or husbands played on occasion though.

As long as playing video games doesnt become a unhealthy obsession then it would not bother me if I was dating a girl who liked to play them just as long as video games dont become more important then us being together

They're up to 8? I thought they stopped at 6 or 7. And speaking of Capcom games, I wish they'd do a capcom collection anthology where they got a PS3 Blu Ray and put Street Fighter Alpha, Darkstalkers 1-3, Breath of Fire 1-4, Resident Evil, or at least some of those from each series. That'd be cool. I'm not into modern games, I like what was big in the 90s and early 2000.

I think to be male is to go in your own direction. So erm, real men do whatever they please.

As stated by someone else previously I already do several things that "real men" don´t(have some sort of crush on several chick-flick actresses so I tend to enjoy watching romcoms and the like, started reading some chick lit every now and then several years ago when I ran out of money and they recommended them at the library...)so playing videogames is the least of my concerns, Im not much of a gamer anyways.

Real men have an opinion of their own that doesnt allways match society´s expectations for them.

Even though real men have their own opinion they have to act according to laws or they´ll end up having trouble with the law.

Theres a rule here that says that you cant post sexism and everyone should feel welcome to post on this forum your posts break that rule frequently and you´ve been asked to stop.
Since you didnt stop I could either get you banned because you arent providing much helpfull comments or edit offensive parts of your posts.

Since I believe that this place could benefit a lot from having people with different perspectives I have decided to try to edit the parts of your posts that offend others(have received several pms about your posts/attitude and why the rule about sexism is barely in use).

The ones who play excessively and ignore to keep playing them are the ones you want to watch out for I would think. (ie the guy who cancels a date because he has a raid on warcraft)

It kicked in before the 90s. Home video game consoles started in the 70s. Within a couple of years there were home computer games as well. But until the 1990s computer games were for a much nerdier set than they are today.

Today they are close to mainstream by comparison.

Yeah, I do remember Zork'ing it up with a friend back in 89', even by then though the text based stuff was disappearing. I sometimes tell my friends that I wish they could figure out a way to take the mystique like you had with the 8 bit games like original Dragon Warrior, Shadowgate, Faxanadu, etc. and translate it over to the newer stuff. So much of a good game is really the art of weaving a mood, when you try too hard for life-like accuracy and 3D movement it seems like you also lose some room for creativity if you're not careful.

Nonsense, my 36-year-old ex played gladly horror games with me and it was very social activity: He did the shooting, I did the screaming.
