I get referred as "classy" in real life and I definitely mix in what are frequently defined as classy social events and circles. Symphonic metal is one of my favourite genres of music, if not the very favourite.

I agree with this - It might be stereotypical for a certain type of person to listen to a specific music, but in reality music tastes are just as diverse amongst all people regardless of where one fits into a group.

OP, Also you can't really determine what "groups" are really, most people now days could fit into multiple classes or groups. I don't think you need to worry about people thinking your music taste is creepy. It's very very hard to have creepy music taste ;)

no they are brilliant compositions. i listened to them and now i want to play them (but it is too late).

i do endorse your musical attitude.

edit: i will amend what i said about all of them being brilliant. i think the first song is brilliant, and the rest are "good", but there is one song i do not like because it is boring to play, and i can not understand why it was written.

No kidding. I was at client's office listening to music on my headphones and my client asked me if I was listening to opera. My favorite music for personal and historical reasons is old-school hardcore punk rock (Black Flag, Minor Threat, etc) so that's what I was actually listening to...

Thats meant as a joke by the way, the post before that wasn't. I think the OP is too judgmental to worry about how people judge him IMO - Don't mean offense.

It's a very common mistake. Most people don't realize that that particular genre of punk rock was actually created by and for (academic-type) nerds...

So can men be categorized the same? If that's the case are you better for sex or love/life?

Of course, but it's more a self-categorization based on your lifestyle choices - not something that is imposed on you.

If you choose promiscuity - then you're for sex; if you choose monogamy - then you're for love.

It's up to each person to decide which is better for them...

I guess I should have elaborated but I hate long posts. I just meant people can be both liking sex doesn't mean you have to be promiscuis.

Back on topic though. The songs are good Apocalyptica we have used on road trips.

Yes of course: two people can enjoy sex equally, but one may prefer an intense relationship with one person and another may prefer superficial relationships with many people - it's just a lifestyle choice...

As its been said before it depends on the girl we are speaking about.

Ive seen extremely posh girls that loved listening to jrock/jpop/metal and Ive seen "average"girls that would only listen to pop.

My advice try to get to know a girl before making any assumptions about her and just be yourself at all times. Sure there are times when she'll be creeped out but that relationship was never meant to work out anyways because as you said you love metal and you cant force yourself to like more "acceptable"things(believe me,Ive tried.)

 A few threads back that was exactly the type of girl you were trying to pick up. It was something about "how do I flirt with metal chicks?"

Anyway, Even if a girl doesn't like that sort of music at all (because she likes only jazz, in your example) she probably wouldn't care if you like it just so long as you don't make her listen to it.

Are you sure you're really 'oldfashioned'? You realize they can be both, right? And why are some girls 'for sex' only? Your own personal sex object?

Classy.

Might I venture to suggest that if you having trouble landing a classy girl, it may say something about your own level of classiness?
