The problem I face is slipping back into old, destructive ways of thinking if I continue to read the negativity and pessimism in here. It's kinda like brainwashing...being exposed to it continuously over a period of time, it starts to sink in.

That's why I have to cut back on reading and posting here (sadly for me).

OR! You could remain and you could be a beacon of hope in a sea of pessimism!

 it's sad for all of us.

very few people with optimism and positive thinking and openmindedness last very long in here. it's a few-month cycle, and occasionally a member will manage to return after a break (i absented myself for a while too), though most don't ever come back.

i try to encourage people to stay, but i understand L&D can be a cesspool in some ways. in other ways it is like a wonderful garden of awesome advice (like from members such as yourself) but the unrelenting waves of bitterness and hate bring down the best of the best.

i get quite upset and frustrated, myself. i sometimes feel like things can't ever change. but then i remember that... keeping in mind that the discussions on here i will never convince haters to stop hating, when i speak up i can maybe encourage people who are on the fence to choose a positive path that could lead to love and happiness.

Dude take up ballet, ballroom dancing, latin dancing, gymnastics, or figure skating. You'll meet tons of chicks who will be forced to interact with you based upon you being there alone.

Thanks Hyperlexian for the nod. There are fantastic people here (such as yourself), which is why I'm going to continue visiting this site. But the pace will have to lessen just for my own health! haha.

How do I do number 7?

Do I start off with talking about my favorite interest, the telephone? i.e.,

"The telephone, often colloquially referred to as a phone, is a telecommunications device that transmits and receives sound, most commonly the human voice. Telephones are a point-to-point communication system whose most basic function is to allow two people separated by large distances to talk to each other. It is one of the most common appliances in the developed world, and has long been considered indispensable to businesses, households and governments. The word "telephone" has been adapted to many languages and is widely recognized around the world."

thanx for making me laugh :!:
