Seems almost like a wondrous middle ages type of love relationship. Of course, in the years to come both of you will grow in unpredictable ways and that's a good thing for adds texture and color to life.

Please do know the laws for your state.

I think many young people end up trying to clumsily duplicate what they think an "adult" relationship is or what they've seen in movies or what they've seen in their families, instead of pursuing what authentically means something to them, and with that ping-pong back and forth of communication (and this second part has been very helpful to me).

Some, but not all. There are less conformist young people.

You know, in thinking about it, you might be in a pretty good place. A friendship, but still an open field where you can meet other people. How about something like community theater or paramedics class at a local community colllege? One, so that your high school is not your one and only social venue. And then, either more artistically minded people, or seriously-minded young people who are sometimes surprisingly less conformist than the 'popularity'-minded students. Still, the luck of the draw aspect.

What if it's a group or organization that could actually use and welcome the help? (and realistically, maybe only one out of eight groups work this well)

And then it happens at unexpected times, like a butterfly coming to rest on a person's hand.
