Sure, im an affectionate person, though I admit im more apprehensive about it than average. With me, I think things just need to be stated. I love hugs if I know ones coming.\, otherwise they cause inordinate stress.

I think some of it, is that "Aspies are like cats" scenario. If you're an "in" person, I will certainly be affectionate, but some people (male and female) just never make it past that barrier to become an "in". It's usually because they're boisterous or they attack or they don't know when to let go. i.e. don't smother me. I'm also a lot more affectionate toward animals and my daughter. Among family members, it depends on the other person, but I am getting better at it. I can be affectionate in romantic relationships, usually based on the criteria named at the beginning. If they rebuff me too often, it's d.o.n.e. as far as I'm concerned, and you may never get the chance to make it up to me.

I agree,I think we express it differently.I often bring in food/treats for my co-workers but I don't make a big deal about it .I might bring the food in and then sit within the group and hardly say a word.I can't express affection with a big outward smile and gushy language but I can be kind in my own way.

Interesting analysis .I would describe my way of dealing with people as ''cat like''.I put up barriers to individuals that I don't feel a connection with.

I hate scenarios that involve physical contact with strangers - handshakes and all sorts. If I like you its a different matter.
