But seriously:

I did have fixation on the late singer-songwriter Laura Nyro for a long time.

Collected some of her albums, and even read a biography of her.

She kinda functioned as an "imaginary girl friend".

I would listen to her music, and suck face with her picture on record jackets. And her songs are often about relationships- often quite earthy.

This thread made me cry. But in a good way. It feels like we are all united by something invisible, but very true nonetheless. I don't know what to call it.

Yes, imaginary people, were what often carried me from one stage of my life, to the next. When I was so lonely, that the imaginary friend, was the only light in my world.

but really i just write stories in my head to pass the time and had to come up with a few character names and thats the one for the protagonist's girlfriend.

Nope, and I strangely don't plan to...if I want to be insane I would just find some insane chick in the woods!

An imaginary girlfriend is basically the only option for me right now. But she doesn't really feel real enough for me to be much happier.

It works best if there is a real girl behind it, and you share a mutual interest in each others.

And I wish that would happen.

It does happen, but it's rare.

I have imaginary fantasies of what possible future girlfriend's I'd love to have in my life.

They aren't perfect or my 'dream girls' or anything, my imaginary girlfriend's are realistic imaginary girlfriend's.

Perfeclty normal, natural, and honestly, not even just an aspie thing.

You don't even have to be extremely lonely, even if your only a little lonely or have a relationship its fine to get these thoughts sometimes. :)

It is, under pretext of public utility, and in the name of the general interest, to be place under contribution, drilled, fleeced, exploited, monopolized, extorted from, squeezed, hoaxed, robbed; then, at the slightest resistance, the first word of complaint, to be repressed, fined, vilified, harassed, hunted down, abused, clubbed, disarmed, bound, choked, imprisoned, judged, condemned, shot, deported, sacrificed, sold, betrayed; and to crown all, mocked, ridiculed, derided, outraged, dishonored. That is government; that is its justice; that is its morality." -Pierre-Joseph Proudhon
