You managed to describe me (and eccentrics everywhere) with a single line. I had to credit you. :)

Even better question, why are you in this forum then?

Hopefully to find someone with braincells, which seems to exclude you.

Spoken like someone too damn stupid to come up with an actual insult. May I ask whoever has to turn the computer on for you to stop doing so?

I did- I tried to be as upfront about myself as possible, albeit in a positive way.
I gave people time to get to know me more before revealing how it affects me, though, especially the less-positive things.

I did. The volume of the replies went down, the quality went up*.

That was my experience, as well.

Wow, what cheesy advice. Maybe if you want to attract a bunch of bimbos.

As for pictures, good ones are a must, but they don't need to be shirtless. The most important thing is that they show you in your natural life, looking happy and friendly. This is why the advice about if you do a shirtless photo make it on the beach is good advice. Go somewhere with family or friends and bring a camera. Pick out a few shots that show you well-lit, and happy. Do this over the course of a few outings and you will have a healthy collection of pictures. Pictures off of your webcam, in the bathroom mirror, etc. are the ones that drive people off.

Rule number 6? Seriously? Send a confrontational message as a last resort? If a girl doesn't respond after 3 messages, save your f*****g dignity and don't be a creep! What good is a girl that you have to guilt into talking to you. This belies a very low opinion of women if one who responds willingly, and one who you need to coerce is all the same.

I think well thought-out messages, a paragraph or so in length, will get you higher quality responses. If you are picky about who you message, and tell them what about their profile made them seem special, you will get more thoughtful responses. It worked for me with both guys and girls (I am bisexual), and my two year anniversary (not marriage, just dating) is less than two months away.

A lot of people on there probably don't fully understand what autism is. They just see that you have a mental disorder in your profile. Revealing it could be a positive thing if the person reading the profile knows what autism is though. It's highly unlikely that a person with AS would be some sort of online-predator for one thing.

I've mentioned a beach setting, nowehere in the advice i said you should post bathroom pics.

And yes, I am serious about rule 6!!

Look, my advice overall is very unorthodoxe, it should be tried by those who have tried all types of advice yet failed in even getting replies, let alone dates.

and no, I didn't attract only 'bimbos'.

Grisha did the same a while ago and he said that while the number of girls he met turned down the quality of the meetings... was much better

If you ask a girl for dating advice you get the answer on how a girl can get a date with a boy. This because there's a natural systematic bias. The scientific method to get around it is to do double-blind testing, theorize and validate, and generally challenge all thought patterns. However this is not something most be people would even get near on doing on the fly. Thus the advices tend to be honest, but flawed. If you meet someone serious they at least will have the imagination to challenge their own experiences as only bits of the true reality and figure out the properties of a situation where other prerequisites dictate possible options.

If real-good-match girls are the only ones to consider for dating you might have to wait a long time. In the meantime cuddling with a bimbo ain't that bad and the math simple shows that this is a more probable outcome.

The selection scheme of people that comes in high volume is the most likely factor to affect any outcome. Just don't confuse it with the right selection. Better matches may be fewer but more worthwhile and perhaps sometimes the only ones to be worthwhile at all.

Now if you put up a selection criteria up front that only matches 0,4 girls. It just won't cut it because you can't meet this "0,4" girl(s), she simple doesn't exist. Thus selection criteria is only an option IF there's a high volume to begin with.

grisha was also looking for a category of girls older than what most in this forum are. Meaning women more likelyy to put up with such things

since feminine experience and opinion is so worthless to some people...I'll mention that my current SO and I met online, he had mentioned AS in his profile (it was also incredibly funny, which is a difficult thing in the dating profile medium but that's a tangent) and I, a college aged (young enough) woman, messaged him on the strength of those words and one self taken headshot of a scruffy glasses and beard kinda guy. I also wasn't the only one...just saying

It's nice to hear some other people have had success with being open. I don't think it's the only way to be, but I think it's a nice one.

It's useful, but one should consider systematic bias.

exactly. One thing ive learned from taking dating advice from women is women have no idea what each other want.
