Ick... I just had a woman (no picture) tell me I was more handsome than her husband and how she hadn't had sex in so long, etc.

*shudder* Nuuh-uuh! I refuse to ever be "the other guy"... :eew:

I don't care HOW hot some woman is - I just don't play that game. Period.

Ok this question is for those of you who can't stand OkCupid.
And this will probably come across as rhetorical, but I seriously would like to know...
If OkCupid is so bad, have you found another site that is better?
I (personally) have found that the matches OkC provides me are significantly closer to what I am looking for than any of the other sites.
So I am curious what your experience is with OkC vs other sites or if you are just saying that all dating sites are bad.
Again... I'm seriously not trying to pick a fight here, I am just looking for helpful opinions (not just "it sucks")

thanks,

Steven

i hear that the best site is based on location and it makes sense since word of mouth from success probably leads to more profiles. ive been told that match.com is the best for phily, so i might try it out in a bit if okc goes nowhere.

OKCupid is certainly the best FREE site by far!

I met my boyfriend on OKCupid. I think he is the one but he lied on some of his answers to the questions (ones that I set as very important or mandatory). :? As an Aspie that was kinda hard to take, even though I haven't mentioned it to him (yet).

someone told me that paid dating sites are better than free dating sites, is that true or not? that on paid dating sites, you have a better chance of meeting someone

I have no picture, but I don't think it will get better than this :?

I haven't had much luck but it might be because I'm seeking a semi-long distant relationship.
It seems like a lot of guys are flakey. They would suggest a meet-up but when it comes to actually arranging it they back down.

Sometimes I just like reading others' profiles. There some odd people on there.

I haven't used other sites but POF seems for young people looking for hookups, Match is for young professionals, and e-harmony is for conservative christians seeking marriage.
Okcupid is more for liberal hipster types I think.

^^^ If that's the case, OKCupid is NOT the right site for me! Small wonder I'm not getting many messages, or the right types!

Seems like other sites are more effective. I'm suspicious of the OkCupid process. I've thought about using the three "big" questions (do you like horrors movies, have you traveled alone, would it be fun to live on a sailboat) and no others, but I don't think it's particularly easy to get the attention of others if you don't have excellent looks or a very high income (this is all mostly based on the OkCupid blog statistics).
