and it is more important to men than it is to women, a lot of men will date or put up with a woman with low self-esteem, insecure, is not happy or comfortable and content with her life, but a man has to be happy with his life, comfortable and content, secure with himself while he is single in order to be boyfriend material

I disagree
The person I've recently split up with was not comfortable and secure at all. He was pleading poverty all the time, his finances were a total mess and he played on my good nature to encourage me to give him money. He was always feeling ill ie playing the pity card and hence I would feel sorry for him. He gave no impression of being happy with his life at all. He rarely even smiled!
