ppl can magically appear and make you regret ever putting yourself out there.

oh and as far as my so-called misandry goes. it's called personal experience.

misandry is supposed hatred and prejudice of men for being men. not acknowledging your life experience and being called hateful because your entire lifetime from childhood to teenagehood to adulthood has been crap due to the way 50% of population have treated you. it's MY PERSONAL EXPERIENCE and in my life it's necessary to avoid the opposite sex like a housefire if i want to be an emotionally healthy person. that's what this topic is about, giving up on the opposite sex, duh. obviously noone in this topic thinks the opposite sex are wonderful, angelic beings or they wouldn't be here.

i don't really care what males think of me anymore because i know they won't look at me as a human being because of my face so i don't consider them human beings anymore either. about to give up on lesbians too. god knows it's been a long time coming. i'll never so much as kiss anyone ever.

Blatant misandry right there, but of course, nobody is bothered. :P

One thing I've learned is that pointing out misandry means you're a misogynist. You have been ousted sir!

did you think that complaining in-thread was going to summon the moderators? if you see sexists posts, report them properly. otherwise, it seems that the two of you just want to blow a lot of smoke around and make trouble without actually putting out the fire.

nobody called you misogynist, so you (and the others) can stop being hysterical.

blurose has been given a final warning. sexism is not tolerated from either gender.

Just out of curiosity, what is the best way to report abusive posts?

I used to say that. I'm not a quitter and when one of my good friends gave me the advice, "just stop looking and you'll find someone." I was like, what!? When I was searching for a job while unemployed I didn't stop looking and then find magically find a job without applying for it, I had to put alot of effort into it.

That was a while ago. I have given up now. Not so much given up, but stopped actively looking and I'm very used to being on my own now.

And she was wrong... now that I've given up no one did magically appear. Worst most stupid piece of advice ever!

Ugh, I hate that one. I heard that one so many times. Where do people get this idea from? A Cracker Jack box?

Anyway, it's not so much me giving up completely, I just feel so uncertain about my entire future. I dunno, we'll see.

I see movies where people fall in love and I feel like I missed out and it makes my heart hurt in a literal way. I'm not bad looking, but I'm loud and say all the wrong things. I've had good-looking girlfriends in the past so I know I can do it, but even if I get a girl I feel like I'm tricking her if I don't say that I have AS. The worst part is that I remember EVERYTHING. All the details that don't matter to anyone else seem to stick in my mind. Total recall. It's a curse.

NT's like to give us this advice because it actually works for them. The catch is that when one stop's looking, you seem less desperate, and appear more confident. That's when you attract the attention and advances of the opposite sex. And this is where NT's and Aspie's diverge. NT's will pick up on the advances and flirtations and reciprocate, which leads to a connection and possibly more. For we Aspies, it's my theory that we miss these advances and flirtatious clues, and even if the advances are super obvious, we have difficulty reciprocating. So the advice "stop looking" fails us. When I look back on the many such encounters in my life, I always realize days to even years later that the woman was actually trying to advance the courtship, but I was oblivious to what was happening. Even now, when I'm aware of this, it is extremely difficult.
