It is a funny thread. :) But hey, it's not the weirdest "thing" posted on WP by any stretch.

And I'm no Frodo Baggins, but Serena Williams can hold me any time. I think I'd still rather hold her, though. ;)

6 seems like a few too many, unless you're huge. 3 should do the trick nicely. :) Maybe even 2, depending on just how chubby they are.

I wouldn't say it's cheap for what it is. 6 lbs is only a little heavier than a regular, heavy (but not weighted) blanket. I doubt that you'd really feel any pressure from it, unless you're about 60 lbs yourself. I love my weighted blanket, but still wish it was a bit heavier - and larger, so I could properly wrap myself in it. :)
