I use the rating system like a bell curve. Most people are going to fall into the 4-6 range. As the numbers get higher or lower, there are less people who will score that high or low. This is pretty superficial stuff I will admit that. If people want to know if they're attractive or not, I will rate them honestly even if it sometimes hurts. I don't mean to hurt anyone by how I rate people.


A score of 1, 2, or 3 means you have unattractive qualities and will be considered unattractive to most people. Very few people will score a 1. While you may not have scored high in the looks department, this is where personality really matters. Having a really good personality (especially a friendly smile and demeanor) can make you more attractive to others.


If you score a 4, 5 or 6, this means in terms of looks you are average. This doesn't mean you're not handsome or cute to some people. You can still be handsome and score a 6 but in terms of looks, you are still in the normal range.


The 7-9 range is above average attractiveness. If you score in this range, you may be considered attractive to many people. You have some looks going for you if you score in this range.


If you score a 7, this means you're above average in terms of looks. Although you may not be a model, you have some looks going for you. You are not quite at the top of looks department but you are definitely considered good looking.

If you score an 8 or 9, you're very attractive. Men who score this high usually have a masculine face, broad shoulders, a nice body, etc. Chris Evans is most likely a 9.


If you score a 10, you're out of this world attractive.

FMX - I am still at a loss with 1-10 scale even though the thread you posted contains useful information and I know it helped me when self evaluating in the past, just noting it down and seeing the difference another day. But for assigning numbers to people - that just doesn't work for me. I could rate someone more attractive than someone else, but actually be attracted to the person I evaluated as objectively less attractive. However I don't think that most people do this.

It's true, you may be attracted to a guy who is considered a 5 rather than a guy who is considered an 8.

I use the number system for attractive qualities that someone has. Also note that I am rating people I don't know and also on a single picture. For all we know, the guy who is an 8 could be a jerk and the number 5 could be really friendly and great person.

Don't always take the number rating seriously. It's only a rough estimation of where you're at in attractiveness. Kind of like an IQ test.
