As an introvert/Aspie, smoking is my escape hatch. Need an excuse to get out of the office environment for a few minutes? Go outside and have a smoke. Need a break from the party your S.O. dragged you to? Go outside and have a smoke. If you're lucky there will not be more than one other person outside to interrupt your getaway. :D

if said person smokes out of habit, no-go, the taste and smell of those things and the person herself asfter smoking one...

if it was a single sigarette in certain situations, i'd be okay with it; i also sometimes take a sigar of a spliff in select situations, it'd be hypocritical to make such behaviours a problem in others (although i'd never do so again if asked)

Picky eating is not comparable to smoking. Smoking has damaging physical effects on the people around you. Picky eating does not.

(There is no such thing as "passive picky eating.")

I've seen commercials for electronic cigarets that have water vapor instead of smoke so they supposedly don't harm anyone around them

Smokers don't bother me. Chainsmokers do, though :P

"Supposedly" indeed.

This thread isn't about electronic cigarettes anyway. It's about normal ones.

I would never date a smoker. Even chew is gross to me. I got mild allergies to it since I recovered from 2 grandmothers that smoked and the second hand just gave me an allergy. I was lucky to never get inhalers or asthma.

Who would kiss a smoker? EW. xP

It would nice to be able to pop out for a bit of fresh air now and again at parties, workplaces etc... but for some reason this doesn't seem to be as socially acceptable as nipping out to take drugs (in the form of fags) ... which I think it a shame.
And even if you do go out, there are often people hanging about polluting the air by smoking. Or, they seem to think it's acceptable to walk up and start smoking even if you were there first. Which I think is also a shame for people who prefer breathing air rather than toxic crap.

No I prefer to not date a smoker. I have never smoked cigarettes and prefer someone who does not and has not ever smoked. I also prefer someone who likes to exercise at least a few times per week for 30 to 60 minutes. Smoking is a major turn off for me.

To those that say no, what if they started smoking after you were together? Breakup/ divorce?

[quote="The_Face_of_Boo"]Feel lucky for not having much hookah smokers in your country.[/quote

I actually enjoy hookah. Me and some friends like to go every now and then and shoot the s**t during hookah.

I'm a smoker, and I smoke outdoors and outside of my car. A friend of mine keeps nagging me to stop smoking.

There are no less than 15 hookah stores within 10 miles of where I live. They're getting some stiff competition from the vaping crowd.

Some people say they smoke to have an excuse to get away from social situations but I think that excuse is wrong because smokers stand around outside the buildings in a group asking everyone & me & others passing if they can bum cigarets so smokers are not escaping social interaction at all.

Any reason other than "I am addicted to nicotine" is just a lame excuse, and "I can quit anytime I want to, and I just don't want to" is just a lie.

Smokers are addicts. They know it. We know it. Everybody knows it.

They should all cut the crap and admit it.
