FWIW, I don't like boring guys, but I don't like cocky ones, either. I like them to have quiet, but not showy, self-confidence.

I think the lesson here is that neither gender should behave as a doormat. If you're not sure enough about yourself to be able to stand up for what you believe in, you probably shouldn't be in a relationship in the first place.

Very true the only to achieve equality is to look above and beyond what society deems normal... and to stop believing in religion, but that's just my opinion.

No one does. It only looks that way, because a large percentage of dating advice books are written by "b*****s" who want men to be confident robots, instead of looking for nice girls who would still like you even if you show human-like weakness.

That was my response to the "Why Girls Don't Like Nice Guys" video. Re-watch the video and every time they say "bad boys" substitute "bitchy women" (or "bad girls" or whatever other catch phrase you like), and you realize that it works both ways. It's human nature to want what seems to be the most "in demand" - the thrill of the chase, as it were. Men are just as bad as women about wanting what seems unattainable at the sacrifice of what is attainable, and what may in fact be a better choice for them.

I've seen it working in both directions all my life....and some things never change.

ten minutes later...

S/he likes me even though I look like s**t, WHAT IS WRONG WITH HER/HIM?

Sorry, but I've never heard of men liking bitchy women. I thought that most men wanted "compliant" women, and that this was a chief complaint of Feminists.

To me compliant means dull and passive.I'd rather have a partner that was feisty, they are better in the sack.
