Hey, if everyone were capable of being unique and interesting, those qualities would no longer be high in demand.

Take for example my OKC profile (currently not active) - it was clearly a piss take profile that even said that most of it was made up.
I get a message from a guy that seems all right and maybe even intelligent, going by his profile

Message 1: Hi, you seem interesting.

Me: Thank you. What is interesting about me?

Message 2: Your profile is interesting and your photo is interesting.

Um. Yeah.

Psh, if you were my age or I was your age, I'd cut right down to the chase:

Me (struts up): Hey baby, wanna make a baby? Nyuk, nyuk, nyuk.
Leafplant: ...(Punches)

/End.

lol! Nah, I would never punch you but that's a terrible chat up line. Maybe you should ask me if I really taste of vanilla? [:lmao: at self]

Haha, yeah! My profile is kind of wacky, too, but the key points are a) I am looking for friends only, because b) I am still recovering from the death of my fiance.

So when I get messages that say "Hi, you are beautiful and you have a great profile" the first thing I do is check the sender's profile for "scammer grammar." If anything there raises an eyebrow, then I do an image search. So far, I have been 100% on target for spotting the scammers, just based on those initial messages. I don't reply back - I just report them.

Gosh, I didn't realise scammers target women too? However there are some profiles that are really quite entertaining and many many many that show guys with their chest and even some other bits exposed. Now, that's absolutely fine for gays, but when a guy is straight AND older, it just really weirds me out. There was one guy in his 50s who messaged me and he seemed to have decent and non creepy conversation but the shirtless pic on his profile was just creeping me the heck out.

Absolutely agreed. Sure, I can appreciate a nice-looking man with a well-toned body, but looks are nowhere near the top of the wish list. And flaunting bare body parts on a dating profile? Well, that strikes me as someone whose priorities are definitely NOT in alignment with my own.

So what would men think of a woman who posted pictures of herself in various states of undress? That she was looking for a date, or that she was looking for sex? Are men attracted to women who do that? Or is it just something that serves as a distraction? How would a man ever get to the point of actually reading enough genuine and sincere profiles to find someone who might actually be compatible? Would he even bother?

Agreed. But my profile pick is like...a little below my shoulders, does that mean I'm fat? o.O

As soon as I see a female profile with boobs hanging out, skimpy outfit on, slu*ty dresses on, etc I immediately close it. It says to me that they are shallow and have nothing else to offer a man other than sex and can't let their natural beauty speak for itself. I do read each and every profile but I will admit my eyes have glazed over reading all the boring, cliche ridden profiles over and over again. If I hear "I love to travel" once more I'm no longer going to have a computer left to break!

Many women seem to have this idea that flashing their breasts will attract a decent man (those who seek relationships not just sex) when most of them like me will run for the hills. It's not attractive at all especially when I got unsolicited pictures of women showing off their bras and panties. Yuck! I'm at the point where I don't even bother anymore. I have focused on being the best person I can be (by recently joining a reputable organization as a volunteer) so I can attract a real life person who hopefully will eventually be Wife and Mother material. They must be out there somewhere but not likely online. The most attractive women are those who are confident yet don't realize how beautiful they really are and would never flaunt themselves like at a strip club... or online.

LOL, well I had a good response but it's too NC17 rated for this forum so I digress. It involved the word cream though.

Jesus Christ, she's ugly as s**t. I'd rather shoot my dick off then let it go near that nasty thing.

:shameonyou: Why do you think she even wants your dick? Having enormous fake boobs does not mean she's asking for it.

My opinion. When I see a chick; with boobs out, ass on the counter, duck face, tongue-out pics, slu*ty outfits, and pics showing more skin than clothing--I just don't take her seriously. And I'm usually right on. It gives a slight indication to their level of maturity. Grown women know how to take presentable pictures for themselves and not set their asses on counters, etc.

Same thing with guy photos. Consistent shirtless pics, throwing up stupid hand signs, sagging pants, more pics of possessions than themselves.
I don't think a woman would take the guy seriously. She'd think he was a boy.

I don't know how the rule works for men; but If I see a girl who posts no full body pictures, it sets off red flags.
