I'm afraid I've reached a point where I just have to give up. After high-school, when I was still a little confident from having had a couple of girlfriends, I would ask out an average of two girls a year. That's about as long as it took to find a girl (usually a cashier), try to make small talk a few times, and eventually work up the courage to ask her out. I even had a few dating site profiles -- a complete waste of time. All that momentum is long gone and the last time I asked a girl out (another cashier) was over 2 years ago. She said yes but we never ended up going out because she was at home with heroin withdrawals. She also had a child and a boyfriend in rehab. Did I mention that in addition to being handicapped by social awkwardness, I'm also incredibly unlucky in love? (She was really hot though, that's gotta count for something!)
