why is it so hard for more compatible people to pair up for the duration?
because very few people are on the same type of life path. :shrug: 17%  17%  [ 4 ]
because very few people are that loyal :| 38%  38%  [ 9 ]
because in this world everything including people ultimately are widely considered to be merely disposable or fungible :shrug: 25%  25%  [ 6 ]

I probably like the partnership aspect of marriage more than the rest of it. Maybe that is why my relationships did not work out. I like knowing someone I care about is there but I am not very interactive.

relationships need regular care and feeding, FROM BOTH PARTIES. they must be nurtured. or they will atrophy.

The 75th anniversary couple must have been very nurturing and, like you said, from both parties.
