Thank all of you for this input. I'm going to a place today, and for the next five days hopefully, where I will definitely meet a lot of ND's, and some NT's as well. There will be activities. Won't be able to bring my guitar. I love the idea though, kraftie, as I find it pretty easy to draw attention just with singing alone. With a guitar, I'd probably be golden.
I'm laughing on the inside, as I often do.
The cucumber comment is great. I am gonna miss you guys when I spend this week away. There are no phones allowed, especially not computers, so I'll be off the radar. Should be around this afternoon that I depart.

Sounds like you're going to some sort of summer camp, or campout, John

Have fun!

Outrider: It's true LOL....this is only practical with acoustic instruments.

But, in the 1980s, 60 pound kids used to lug around 60 pound boomboxes to try to get girls, or least play the part.

If Nurse Angela, a female NT can't get a date in a grocery store--why should someone on the spectrum even bother trying?

I'm sure she could if she lowered her standards.

People who have no trouble getting dates can get dates in grocery stores. Along with pineapples and grapes.

BTD, check my sexual invisibility thread.

The reality is, after a certain point in age (depending on how one ages), most people, men and women become sexually invisible.
Angela is not young anymore - so it's natural dating gets hard for her.

There are good things to be said about angela's personality tho, she is one of the few female wper who doesn't go quickly to defend every female in every story here - I liked her stance in the thread of prenup for example - while most female wpers were like "no, asking for prenup isn't romanitc / you are an evil man / you don't trust her" (even tho the female in the story showed greed signs), like seriously? - I was surprised that Angela, who's older than them, supposedly more old fashioned, and NT (hence supposedly more taken by emotion) had a far more egalitarian and logical stance on the matter.

Angela's about 9-10 years younger than me.....I don't think she's "invisible," though.

I'm 55. Should I divorce my wife, or she divorces me, I would get right back out there.

Success, of course, isn't guaranteed...but I would give it the good ole college try, and I wouldn't make myself invisible....because I am not invisible, even at 55.

So......when are you gonna propose to Angela?

estimate that less than 1% of US married couples met in a grocery store or super market, and mostly when at least one was a store employee at the time.

I was actually going to check into the psych ward this evening but I've decided against it. I am no longer in crisis, and I really don't see it coming back any time soon.
Sometimes you just know.
That and I'm realizing what a great support group I really do have here in Montgomery.

Then most common means of finding spouses are 1-friends or friends of friends. 2- thro the workplace.

I'm torn between that, and drawing, and the history books my MawMaw just gave me. Every now and then things will fall out that my Granddaddy was keeping. The oldest clipping was from the year I was born, 1981. It's totally brown. I'm gonna start keeping these in the big plastic page protectors I've been collecting. I guess I never knew until now why I've been stockpiling them. Those flip-top laminators from Office Depot in the 5.0 mils thickness.. Knew there was some ingenious reason for this. I'm way too organized to be a hoarder.
