I'm not saying we should all conform to strict rules of political correctness, I'm just saying we should be civil to other people.

That's the crux of it.

Asking a woman whether she farted is really not civil.

A good reason to avoid being there at all in the first place.

I really see nothing wrong with it to be honest. It's a fart. Who the hell cares? It's a bar, not a church. People get drunk at bars. I mean, I'm sure those ladies heard WAAAAy worse questions in bars. Some they may have even liked. So c'mon. No ones saying the women should have 'liked' it, but lets not act like asking who farted makes someone some a**hole or something...

Obviously not a wise move is he's trying to pick up the women, but otherwise who cares? It's a silly thing. He amused himself. Live a little, damn.

Can you explain why? I'm not even trying to be oppositional, I really don't get whats so bad. Now if it went on all night... that's lame. One time? I'd laugh my ass off. Especially if they looked like the really judgemental 'were too hot for everyone' types... knock em off their pedestal a little. If it was less attractive girls it'd prolly be a little mean because they might think you're making fun of them and that would be sh***y. So i guesss it's contextual and I partially answered my own question...

It's unbecoming.

I was very drunk at the bar last Saturday.

I smelled something rotten as a group of women walked past and I looked at them and said "who farted" they then looked at very angrily saying "well I think it was you" and they started whispering to each other.

Do you think I probably deserved for them to get aggressive to me like that?

It's a good thing you asked that BEFORE they got their drinks, otherwise you would be wearing them.

It wasn't a big deal.
You were just trying to be friendly.
I don't know why people think what you did deserves an aggressive response.

I'm not sure I see how the response was aggressive (whispering is aggressive?). If one of the girls had called him a name or slapped him I could see calling that aggressive, but whispering? Sounds like paranoia to me. For all we know they were whispering "Do you know what that guy is talking about? Who is that guy and why is he asking us about farts? Did you fart, Vanessa? I didn't fart."

So aggressive.

There was a sort-of social experiment, where very preppy girls are made to wear thriftstore clothes to a bar, can't get free drinks, without makeup, and get really stressed, realizing that they're up a creek with a paddle.

They didn't even gas the place out.

What did you think you were missing -- happily ever after, in the fairytale castle?

I'm not saying to get out-of-control drunk and harass people, but what did they do, to merit your concern, days later.

Literally how long have you dwelt on this, if we had to clock it, in minutes, and what have they done to earn your attention, literally.

You have an advantage over NT people, because you can blow right past these emotional bluffs and be utilitarian. It's just hot air. If I'm being too indirect, their high self esteem is like rancid, sulfurous farting, to me.
