"Be yourself" makes no sense to me.
It can't be general advice.
Would you have advised Hitler to be himself?
Be yourself, but the best version of yourself.
That is not being myself.
When I'm alone and relaxed, I feel like myself.
I don't feel myself if I have to try to be on my best behaviour at all times.
I'm performing for other people, so I can't be myself.
I'm being who they want me to be, someone other than me.
Am I taking this too literally?
Have never understood this concept.
I don't know if you're intentionally sarcastic/enigmatic, but a lot of you posts come across as cryptid before you finally make a longer post like this explaining.more clearly what you mean.
Its like you subtly question people with short posts that you know have a deeper meaning you're trying to imply to the other person but when they don't get the message you're more direct and explicit.
Do you have an idea what I mean by this?
