Does she not choose her own meals at restaurants?
She usually chooses her own meal. That night we went to Krispy Kreme for dinner. We both chose our own donut. Girlfriend didn't like this dinner. After a lengthy silent treatment she said a donut is not a good dinner.
Tonight I cooked her a burger which she seemed to like a lot better.

Why did you go to Krispy Kreme? Who made that decision to go to Krispy Kreme?
We had just gone swimming and I wanted to try the new churro place I'd heard about. As we were walking there we passed the Krispy Kreme and she suddenly said she wanted me to buy her a donut.
I refused because we were already going to another place. The churro place was closed so we traced our route back to the Krispy Kreme. I asked her if she still wanted me to buy her a donut and she said anything's fine. I bought her a donut because that was what she wanted before.
If she wanted something other than a donut she shouldn't have said "Buy me a donut!" If she wanted something specific she shouldn't have said "anything's fine". If she had a problem with it she should have told me about it immediately instead of giving me the silent treatment for half an hour and then telling me about it when we're no longer near any restaurants.
Well, it sounds like you both have a serious problem with communication.
it sounds to me like she wanted the donut as a snack or maybe she was going to save it for later after dinner.
But dinner didn't happen. And as has been mentioned, donuts are not dinner food. They're snacks or dessert.
What you could have offered was to go to another restaurant. When one is closed, try to find another.
But she's at fault as well. She could have spoken up. As a woman, when we say "anything's fine" by then either we're already peeved at you and we just don't want confrontation, or we really do mean "anything is fine" but we MEAN we want you to take the lead and make a decision.
It sounds like you're dating someone who is very passive, which is bad if you have a communications disorder. You may need to tell her she needs to speak up more.
