It doesn't matter. You are judged at first sight because of the way you dress. It's totally nonsens but people are that way.

You're right, most do. Their conclusions are still very often inaccurate. Saying someone wearing jeans has bad morals and character is just taking it to a ridiculous and absurd level. Such extermes can be very dangerous, both to oneself and others.

It's not even that. How someone dresses says a little bit about his social state. That's why especially women but also not even few men care about it.

Sure, clothing can give some information about someone's social and financial status, lifestyle, taste and even personality (it can also be misleading). It's not a good indicator of their character or morality.

And sure, a lot of people make snap judgements based on appearance. I can assure you that at least sometimes that gets them in a world of trouble.

I don't agree with that. There's is no way in the world I would ever go out with someone who lives in just t-shirts and sweatpants. It just reeks of "I don't care about anything".

I agree, and I tried to make that point clear; you can't just wear ANYTHING, it has to be something presentable, but as long as it's presentable, no sensible person will have a problem with it. What I was saying is that those who would normally wear smart sweaters, shirts and Chino jeans - for example, shouldn't start wearing Ralph Lauren Polo shirts and torn jeans just because they've been told that doing so is required to attract women. There was nothing wrong with what they were wearing to begin with, not to mention the fact that what's considered "fashionable" is hideously ugly anyway - when I see men wearing torn jeans, polo shirts and waistcoats, I almost feel embarrassed FOR them.

Personally, I wear suits and ties every day, but that's probably asking too much for most people. As long as you're presentable, what's the big deal?

No no we all need to go buy expensive suits.

Lol no. Nice shirt and a pair of jeans is always a winner. He just says he wears suits. Probably for work. Or he's actually Thereportoftheweek.

First of all, body building and dressing nicely have nothing to do with the diagnostic criteria for autism. Flirting skills do but according to you his flirting skills did not improve.

And even if they did, neither masking, coping, nor adapting to autistic struggles mean you no longer experience those struggles. Autism is a lifelong condition.

Other than modesty, I do not see how someone's choice of clothing relates to morality.

My appearance and choice of clothing says more about my disabilities in self care and my sensory hypersensitivities than about any of that.

In a word: Yes.

I clean up Ok and have been treating my ASD symptoms for ~6 years now. I'm Extremely High functioning, but, still an Aspie & always will be.

There is no cure. Only treatment, learning, coping mechanisms etc. But we cannot ever change the fact that we're on the spectrum.
