I wasn't really thinking of the debate about how much money is worth spending on the legal piece of paper! But yes, that is definitely a hot debate of its own

?Marriage is a far greater thing. Than a piece of paper or even money , I always wish for marriages to work. Regardless of other issues that could come between the intended parties . When love is involved “ Just my opinion “.

I didn't mean to diminish it by trying to differentiate defacto from legal. As Max said, the dissolution of either would be devastating

There are reasons that especially women are a lot more into it.
In the end both want to ensure to stay with each other. This makes sense as long as you want children together because it's a long time that they require the care of both parents. But as soon as they are married not even few people stop to care about themself as well as about their partners. Many people would be a lot happier without marriage just because of this.

If you marry a individual that has strong traditional values , possibly inherited from their parental families. You may just end up with persons marraiges in which both parties care deeply for each other and themselves . Often more so for their respective partners .
