The blonde turning darker with age seems to be not uncommon too, dirty blondes were often bright blondes as toddlers; I think some people hair change in melanin levels; probably some babies are born with low melanin then it spikes with age later.
Yeah, it's fairly uncommon (blond(e) with brown eyes). I do seem to be an unusual one, especially when you also consider my left-handedness, but that's another topic.
Blond(e) in general tends to get darker with age, many lose it completely in adulthood and it becomes brown.
