I think guys do get discriminated if they are short. There are women who are like 5"5 who say they won't date a guy who is over 6"0 (which is pretty nuts). I am at LEAST 6"2 so this doesn't affect me...

Ya, I know. I've heard several women shorter than me say they need a man taller than me. You'd think personality would count for something -- without automatically disqualifying "all men under 6 feet". I think most automatic disqualifications of potential mates are short-sighted. (And, no, I'm not making a pun there.)

BTW Space, your avatar is part of what motivated me into working out.

What the heck... do all these women live in homes with vaulted ceilings and need a tall man to change the light bulbs?

I'm 5'9"... maybe 5'10"... which I guess is fairly short. But with the way the rest of my body looks, I have plenty of other things to concern myself with before height.

I'm around 165cm and quite surely no longer growing I think tall girls are a turnoff. I don't like being dwarfed by other people...

Women say like like tall guys but to me it seems like they don't like the really tall ones.

See Danny can do it and he is under 5 foot.

Pasty as vitamin D deficiency, No tan, anaemic, all of the above? Why mention glasses if it doesn't matter? Obviously it does matter :D

True, but Rhea Perlman is also barely taller than Danny...about an inch or so.

I'm about 5'10", which is the average height...for a man. Sometimes I wish that I was shorter so I didn't stand out as much in public and so I could actually buy pants that are long enough. It's funny that my mom and I are about the same height but my legs are at least 2 inches longer than hers.

But it is a bit hypocritical if you weren’t to consider your own height yet complain of heightism

I'm 5'10" and I hardly stand out at all, I presume you are a woman I think 5'10" is a good height for a woman.

I wasn't really complaining about heightism, just making a comment that probably could have been worded better.

Yeah I'm female, so I'm pretty tall for a woman. My husband is probably about an inch shorter than me and he hates it that I'm taller than him...I don't mind though. And it's nice to have a great excuse for not wearing high heels because I hate those things.

Yep got you, more in reference to LePeitePrince. Actually heightist is the incorrect word. Everyone is free to date whatever height they want if they weren’t that would be heightist. A 40 year old can't complain that 25 year olds are being ageist by not dating them. It is their choice.

You exaggerate, 5'10" is just a little tall. :D Actually I'm a pretty poor judge of size unless it is extreme. Sometimes a girl that is shorter than me seems taller (no heals) and a don’t notice if a girl is bit taller.

uhh right ....but Danny is a famous actor and he has good $$$ so he won't have hard time to find a mate . (besides his taller wife is not that gorgeous ) ....so he 's exception .

Besides even Danny is not invulnerable against heightism ....in most of the movies that he acts in them there's always 1 or 2 'shorties jokes' .
