Go look up a pic of hale_bopp; most guys would agree that she's attractive, but if I remember correctly, she doesn't have a boyfriend.

Maybe she doesn't want one?

I don't remember that as being the case.

Look, you guys need to remember that the women on this board are not like most women. When you post a statement like this about women, it pisses us off because we feel like we're being grouping into a generalization.

In my opinion, that article sounds like it was written by a guy who had a really bad experience with someone and is now taking his bad experience out on all women. Yes, there are materialistic b*****s out there who will use you until you're dried up and then move on, but there are men out there who will too. My point is that there are a lot of sh***y people out there, but there are also a lot of good people out there.

I've had some bad experiences with guys but I know they don't represent every man out there. Stop generalizing and start placing blame on the individuals who have hurt you - that's where it belongs, not blanketed across an entire group of people.

I said in the beginning, I thought this was true for the majority of NT, not all of them, let alone women on WP. Get it straight. There are a lot of women like were talked about in my OP, they just may not be here.

Well said.
As for the part that I've bolded: yeah, he's probably bitter because he can't get laid.

Still no reason to denigrate women who never harmed him - he should stick to insulting the one/s who gave him the hard time and leave the rest of us out of it.

Another point: what's wrong with being attracted to guys who've achieved something? I'd want someone to be attracted to my achievements rather than the nebulous concept of me being a "nice person". Also, surely your profession is part of who you are? I don't say: I'm Rachel. I'm unstable, hate criticism, and love music. By the way, I'm a musician, but that's not important, it's just what I do." Your job is part of who you are.
Also, rising to a position of prominence in a field requires passion and determination, both very attractive traits.

This is very true. I don't think I could go out with someone who wasn't trying to do anything with their life, because they wouldn't 'get' me and why I have to spend so much time writing and doing my degree work when i could be with them. I think it's ambition I care about though, not success.

Im sure that if I played in a band and became a f*****g rockstar, women would Love me. But in the words of a friend of mine: "yes but for all the wrong reasons". They would only want me because of my status and most likely would have very little in common with me or ever truly understand who I am, and so I would never really respect them. My profession has never made me desirable to women and so Ive had to go waaay the hell out of my way to meet ones who are interested. Math is just not sexy. Those men who meet people in the math profession are probably meeting people who are similar to them-but mathematical talent is just Not sexually attractive the way musical/artistic talent is! Ive never truly understood why. The few people who've been attracted to me and wanted a relationship with me-ALL of them are right brained and interested in some sort of creative endeavor like visual art or writing. But honestly people, the best analogy is the oft-spoken female complaint.men only want me for my body. Is it Any Wonder why celelbrity marriages/relationships are so short-lived? Those people have a lot of choices but they choose on such superficial bases(cuz they can afford to) that the get involved with people who really have very little in common with them. So I wanna make this crystal clear to all you ladies here and everywhere: I want a Woman who's attracted to ME, not my status, money, power, etc. ! !

Quote:
The female in a matrifocal social structure is the complementary opposite. She is chosen for her strength, fortitude, and ability to wield authority. In a matriarchal society the male does not know his progeny and does not accumulate wealth to be passed down to his sons. A male’s authority is through his sister, whose children he is related to through their parents. Males compete with males for procreation opportunities through the exhibition of their skills in dance, rhythm and song. Matrifocal social structures select the male artist, with the most successful performers mating the most frequently. Procreation is indiscriminate in matriarchal social structures, though serial monogamy is common. Authority and wealth do not accumulate with the male, but with the female or the tribe. A man passes on his genes more through his artistic prowess, not his warring abilities, or his skills in the hunt. His ability to kill benefits the tribe. His ability to astonish benefits himself and she whom he has impressed.

When a society and its individuals idealize and select males and females for temperments, skills and inclinations along this left to right, matrifocal to patrifocal spectrum, humans evolve in those selected directions far faster than the slower selective powers of natural selection. Hence the exponential rise in human brain size and the incredible slowing of human maturation rates and timing over the last 2 - 3 million years. As we humans have selected for the artists among us, far more cerebral capacity was engendered than needed for mere survival. And so, for millions of years, an evolutionary path was layed through our genetics, a path characterized by maturational delay (also called neoteny), the single most powerful variable leading to increased brain size that has culminated in the last few thousand years with a sudden movement toward maturational acceleration.

For the last few thousands of years males have been selecting the females least likely to stray and so provide them with male heirs. Males have been selecting females less likely to wield authority, females who are willing to cooperate with a patriarchal agenda. Females have been selecting males most likely to accumulate wealth, who can stay alive long enough to provide babies and provision a large brood in a relatively monogamous society. Revered features of the ideal male in a matrifocal society are disparaged by patriarchy. But it is these features, and the characteristics of the individuals that thrive in that kind of world, that is the world of the autistic child.

hale_bopp is very pretty but I remember very well that she had exes and I remember very well that she's telling the guys who are asking out that she's lesbian to push them back because she doesn't want a relation.

A pretty girl , whether she's successful or loser and whether she's NT or Aspie , has a zero difficulty in having a bf ... unless if she's not willing to have a bf .
This is just a fact , accept it and stop arguing about this point again and again.

Yet No societies to this date select for the male scientist/mathematician! I guess its because people just arent hardwired to be "turned on" by it. You have to be educated to understand it and it doesnt evoke the response in the brain that art does. The are few truly matriarchal societies and even few cultures which allow polyandry. If the man doesnt know his children, then WHO praytell is gonna protect those children from other men(not related to the kids)who seek the affection of the mother??
Even in the confines of "civilized" cultures, children without a father are still in a very risky position.

Because every guy is only attracted to a woman's genitals and body shape. Screw the fact that they're women.

I'm not going to flame that. Seems on the mark, sadly so, for many women I know.

I adore my husband for who he is. I am attracted to him because it's just a natural feeling that occurs within me when he is near. He completes me, he's my other half, my soul mate. His self-esteem may not be perfectly intact, he might not have a wide circle of friends and aquaintances, but these are not the things I judge him for. Sometimes when I listen to women discuss what they look for in a man, I find myself wondering how miserable and empty their lives (and subsequently his) will be.

I'm not saying all of my gender is this way, but a substantial amount are. Take my mother for example. She met my dad when his family was worth millions. He wasn't super attractive, per se, but his money apparently was. Years and a few bad real estate transactions later, my mother whines incessantly about not having the life she expected and how she blames him for not giving it to her. As if he owed her. He has given her love, a nice home, food, beautiful gifts (which are never good enough - and they're actually pretty amazing gifts that he goes out of his way for). He has sold so many things dear to him to give her more, and she still barely thanks him because it's only a drop in the ocean of what she feels she is owed. I'd hate to be him, or the other guys like him. I don't mean to dog my mom, she's just a convenient example of the substantial portion of my experience.

I agree with this, but i don't think its meant to put-down or offend. It's just how females are hard wired. You can still see this trait in animals. I think it's a leftover instinct from years of evolution that's why it's more prevalent in NTs. People in the autistic spectrum i think have a better innate ability to think over or against their leftover instincts.

I think those obstacles, both on the side of men and the side of women, are probably going to be some of the greatest challenges we'll face in moving humanity forward. Personally I think the only way that will really happen is by people being self-aware of that and using that self-awareness to overcome it.

I don't by any means think that people should jump into relationships with people who they're unattracted to, but I do think the idea of how people these days take commitment so lightly and have that natural urge to think infatuation and love are one in the same is probably the most vital problem related to this sort of thing. That and I think the greed - the 20% of guys or girls who everyone wants being unfaithful to their partners just because they have so many options, is something that leaves both them and the half dozen people they sometimes end up juggling pretty miserable.

Also, I think the way sexuality coerces culture is the other problem - if men and women could really be themselves without fearing reprisal from the strong-arm of conformity (ie. sexual excommunication as well as social) we'd achieve so much more let alone move forward by leaps and bounds. These days, especially for many people of high intelligence and spiritual consciousness, to actually be free and be happy means following their own course and the price of that means that they quite often need to forget any possibility of having anything in their life that results from them needing someone else to come through for them.

You could be right. They guys rational thinking is tented with anger. So truth is often a victim to emotion like anger, fear and greed and he has a lot of anger.

I know that we as human, NT man and Woman and aspies to a certain extend are nothing more then biology, evolution and nothing more. But he does make points, though in an untactful kind of way.

True for some women, but for most, it's not like that anymore. The theory is highly flawed, sexist, even.

And what, pray, if that really successful, really rich guy is really screwed up in the head?

Yes, a majority of girls do want guys who are capable breadwinners, but that's only a part of it.
