Yeah definitely not the first kiss, in fact if you do a really bad first kiss you could break the relationship. 
hmmm perhaps another sign your in a girlfriend/boyfriend relationship could be after a couple dates you then go out together somewhere but not as a date. Something like going shopping together or what ever. Being comfortable to be with that other person without a context (rather than going somewhere in the context of it being a date).
