Heterosexual female AS.

Sex is a varied thing in life. Like food, it is a fundamental biological need and drive that is programmed into us relentlessly by nature. We don't just do it once, but all our lives. So there are many different ways to experience sex, just like there are many different kinds of food experiences we have in life.

Sometimes you eat food because you're hungry and you need it for physical reasons, and eating at that particular time is good.

Sometimes you eat food because you don't feel well and you have a craving for something that will restore your balance, and the satisfaction of that one particular thing that your body needed, makes you feel stronger and healthier.

Sometimes, you get to eat a meal that is so perfectly prepared, full of rich flavors, textures and scents that fill your senses, that it is overwhelming and you can't stop eating it, it is such a sensual tide that you immediately memorize those tastes.

Sometimes, you have dinner with a friend, and it is a warm, fulfilling feeling, where you are engaged and excited by the conversation while sharing the appetizers and pacing your drinks in the moments you are sharing in reaching out to each other.

Sometimes, you have a holiday meal with family, and the beautiful comfort foods bring back your childhood Christmases each time you walk in your family's door and smell the same food cooking, and it fills you with the memory of the love and joy and then you feel that love and joy anew as you say hi to everyone and hug them.

Sometimes, making a particular recipe is a real mission, and you have to go all over town for this thing and that thing, and before you know it, you're spending too much time on one high-maintenance meal.

Sometimes, the food really kind of sucks, but you were hungry anyways so on the balance it was worth doing.

Sometimes, there is something wrong with the food, and you get uncomfortable and you don't want to go back to that restaurant.

Sometimes, the restaurant charges too much, and you look at the menu, peep in the door, size up how well you think they can deliver on it, and decide their rendition of the menu is, as far as you can tell, not worth what they are charging.

Sometimes, you see stuff that no way, no how are you going to put that in your mouth!

You can thank the media, it's just for personal satisfaction, there really is no "intimacy" to it anymore, and it's pretty much meaningless. I guarantee most people who say otherwise to people, say it with intent of getting laid.

I really love the analogy. I'm stealing it

Yeah, I tend to agree with this. It's sad how little intimacy there is to it anymore. It's back to what it used to be for other apes, if it was ever different to begin with. Sometimes I wonder.

Horse puckey!! !!

Sex has as much intimacy to it as you let it, some people just like the blind catharsis of 'busting one' (insert, thrust, repeat) I've never been like that. If I get naked with you, it's because I want to be with you. I want to smell you, I want to taste you, I want to know your middle name, I want to hear about your cats, I want you to wake up in my arms!!

Sexual intercourse is just an extention of that with me.

Oh, I'm so sorry, I can do a naughty-sex version of "What food means to me!" Shall I???

Just kidding -- it would get deleted, but maybe I could do something in-between, if you are serious.

Either I'm in a particularly slap-happy mood tonight or stuff on here just got funnier tonight. Horse puckey?

I agree with you there, too, on a personal level with my own relations. What I was agreeing with in the other case was that it applied to the general populace. I guess you're not the general populace, at least as I know it. The town I live in currently is so full of meaningless, promiscuous sex I tend to hide most of the time. It bothers the hell out of me endlessly, but I don't want to start arguments like I've done before on here, what with attracting those who feel differently.

I don't hear people, especially men, very often say what you did above. I'd guess it's cultural, like has been said.

I think that is kind of like a hockey puck, which is what some horse s**t might look like if you squint at it.

The sex act allows me to experience a physical sensation which I need in order to have a 'mental' emotion so for me I have to have the physical component in order to have the mental component. I know it's a pretty weak way to be but for me at least it is true.
