I would say a true rebel is someone who just doesn't give a crap what other people think... opposing the system is merely being part of the system, by virtue of acknowledging its existence. It's like how the redpills in Zion are all really intended to be part of the machines' plans (sorry, matrix references in case you were scratching your heads there...)
