A true rebel IMO, is one who shifts the paradigms of what is whether it's music, theology, mechanics, etc.. I think these are usually people who start out as nerds or people who don't fit in. Look at many famous composers and inventors that changed the paradigms of tradition, they weren't exactly what you would see as rebels.

I would say a true rebel is someone who just doesn't give a crap what other people think... opposing the system is merely being part of the system, by virtue of acknowledging its existence. It's like how the redpills in Zion are all really intended to be part of the machines' plans (sorry, matrix references in case you were scratching your heads there...)

^As I said, I think the meaning differs from person to person. In our culture it's basically how you put it.

I usually give the word rebel my own meaning. To me, it's a bit like the word hypocrisy in modern day culture...

yeah, I did have a crush on Han Solo as a little girl... but to be honest, I'm not that attracted to bad boys anymore as I am to shy, quiet, not-particularly-interested types.

I am that type.

There's a certain romance to rebellion. But the trick is that you have to have a cause.

I agree, that would've been a bit creepy... I wouldn't start preaching the Bible even for George Clooney himself.
