Why not just start a new thread in PPR and leave a note here letting people know about it?

Because my internet connection is having issues. Maybe the mods want to move everything in their own way.

True and no less sexist than the other way around. However, please get back to me when men are kept out of careers, regarded as idiots, and reserved for use as fap/sexual material because hot.

Women do keep men out of jobs. Teaching has a very stubborn gender bias. Our training in MN is skewed toward baby-sitting skills, even for someone planning to be a Latin teacher. How many Latin classes are there in early grade school?

And if you've ever worked in technology, you've seen armies of men who've been turned into problem solving drones. I'm objectified all the time based on what I do for work, or my level of education.

No problem I agree, will you please move it if you do not mind?

I'm not going to move this thread to a different forum just because that would better suit the direction in which you're derailing it.
The solution is to simply stop derailing it with off-topic questions.

If you want to discuss the nature of enquiry, evidence, interpretation and so on, start a thread about that in PPR.

this is just my opinion on the OP, i will have more to say on further posts in that thread as i reread further (this will take many hours, likely days, as hunting down the examples and reading through them originally did, which was why i was originally reluctant to go through the exhaustive process again.). however, you said you wanted me to account for my examples thoroughly. be careful what you wish for.

Apparently, I'm not wishing hard enough.

Well, whether more people rush in or not I believe this was very enlightening for me. As we speak, I feel very elated right now. Based upon discussions I have had with people over the years on other boards and on wrongplanet I think I may understand myself a lot better. Most people including those on here compartmentalize information together.

I don't do this. To me, everything is related to everything in some way and everything is one integrated whole. People separate information into disjoint units. I synthesize things together. I hope I am being clear in what I'm conveying.

Cornflake says that I am threadjacking. I will try to make more of an effort to follow this rule but for me it is difficult to do this because of my neurology.

It is no wonder people have such an inconsistent belief system in America. It is because American culture compartmentalizes their information a lot( in certain ways) and they do not synthesize the information.

There are obvious social/cultural gender biases toward men too in some domains like elementary teaching, nursing, social work, NGOs, clerical and admin.

Most straight women certainly don't watch or think of Mickey Mouse or Winnie the Pooh while masturbating  - they would think of some male crush, partner, male celeb or even look at the pictures of those or at some porn and male models, or while reading some erotic stories or while having some dirty talk with a guy over the phone/skype and even while watching him....etc.

I knew quite a handful of women who wanted to see me or hear me in a certain way (often includes nudity) while they're masturbating (in real life, skype, voice...etc).

in my area retail positions are almost completely dominated by women.
I think this is partly sexist. as in sex sells. is a fat guy spend more with A. attractive thin woman. or B a fat/average male.
Banks here are also 99% female. My local branch went from being 3/4 men to 4/4 women. I did however meet the first male cashier at Safeway that I'd seen in a long time.

at my job. there are 4 men cashiers and 10 women cashiers. so it is the only place I've seen that goes against the standard that I see here, but we hire from the students.

I don't know how it is else where but thats how it is here. the exception is stockers, and cooks(at fastfood).

I like being up front at the cashier not in the back along moving boxes.

Okaaay.

So what I was able to pick up from the "Don't do nothing about sexism" end of the argument is "sexism isn't only against females, so it should continue in perpetuity."

WHAT IS YOU GUYS' PROBLEM?! !

It's established that sexism goes both ways. No man should automatically be treated like a rapist. No woman should be treated like all that matters is their vagina. Of course rules against sexism will be both ways. Dear lord, people- seriously! Just because you can't say stupid s**t like "bros before hoes" or "men only use their smaller head to think" doesn't mean you are being censored, it means you should really think of better ways to express a point.

oh, and Dox, here's your damnable proof you've been shrieking about http://www.wrongplanet.net/postt266286.html

If you can't get any sexism out of what this guy is saying or in why he's doing what he has done, then you don't need proof, you need a brain transplant.

Seriously, that post alone makes me wanna take a long vacation from this place, but the douches that are arguing to keep their "right" to be sexist really takes the cake.

One, that post is dated from a week ago and this thread is months old, two, I never "shrieked" and don't appreciate dishonest hyperbole smearing me, three, what is being alleged is a "pervasive climate of sexism" that an individual thread would neither prove nor disprove, and four, that thread demonstrates some very questionable ethics from its OP and some participants, but the question could have gone either way with sperm/egg donations, so to call it sexist per se is a bit of a stretch.

Perhaps you shouldn't misstate other peoples' arguments and launch borderline personal attacks as your entry into a lengthy but dormant thread, it's generally considered bad form.

I don't get the point of sexism in general, and mainly of all places here, where people are supposed to be accepting of others. Both genders should be treated equally, I've always believed that.

Agreed. What people cannot agree on, however, is just what it is "equal" means.
