Yep, see, another way. So I guess incel problem solved? No matter how ugly someone is, they can compensate in various ways and proudly show themselves off on the dating meat market? :3

^^^thank you for that explanation luckily for your bf, he doesn't seem large enough [per your description] to have troubles losing a useful bit of weight via a good bit of exercise and a dietary change. exercise won't by itself make you lose appreciable weight and keep it off, but it will increase your metabolism [via increased muscle mass which needs more calories for upkeep] making you burn more calories in a resting state and making it easier to maintain weight loss.

He may not be as ugly as the nerdy archetype we think of portrays him in the eyes of women. More importantly, he was already a millionaire, listed as one of 1987's 400 Richest People...same year he met Melinda. I'm sure intelligence helped a bit, but to say that was the only compensating factor is ludicrous. He was already rich and powerful when they met. That helped more than intelligence or looks as the mitigating factor.

But aren't incels defeated too, so they would logically not strive for better than them, looks wise?

i believe there is sort of a grieving steps process akin to the 5-step process outlined by the late Elisabeth Kübler-Ross. the aspie incel may start out with hope, then irritation, then fear, then anger, then exhausted resignation and ceasing to give a good GD. that was my process.

But I am just trying to gauge what kind of women incel men set their standard to, looks wise. For example, do they only go for Red Lobster restaurant quality, or would they settle for hot dog stand quality. I mean if you're starving, why not just take the hot dog stand quality therefore? Or do a lot of incel men not go for that?

Maybe thanks to less developed social skills that strategy fails because it's too obvious that's what the person is doing.

No one wants to date someone who they feel is looking down on them and settling.

Oh but in incels cases, I was just talking about sex for now though. Why not just for that?

Quite often they express more interest in a relationship than a hook-up, at least from what I've seen.

But beyond that, someone who's never gotten over not getting laid in high school and spends 4 hours a day calling women their own age roasties on some message board probably isn't actually interested in hooking up with a woman their own age who they assume (probably fairly) won't want to talk to them afterwards.

Oh why not their own age?

Some of these Incels really aren't all that bright...

Especially since they get stuck in a nonsense ideology that has no basis in anything.

I'm talking about the Incels with a capital "I". I'm not talking about guys who have trouble obtaining relationships. and who don't subscribe to their junk.

one possible reason is that many incels are immature relative to their age-peers, girls don't want to be with anybody that reminds them of their stupid kid brother - one non-PC phrase i've heard bandied about in reference to them is "socially r*t*rded.

I read the article. But if you look at the incel in the picture, a lot of people are saying they are really ugly to women. But I know guys who look about as good as that guy who are married.

So I think this goes beyond looks doesn't it?

there are boatloads of non-handsome men and ones with sh***y personalities who somehow end up with mates. it is a mystery. my guess is that they "walk tall," IOW they have immense self-respect and self-esteem that seems to be some kind of aphrodisiac.
