This thread really makes me wonder if some of you have ever had a partner.. wouldn't be surprised if the answer is no, looking at the encycopedias of criteria.

^ Find which traits correlate, then we can shorten all the lists. :)

Like: Genuine mutual understanding

Dislikes: Lack thereof

Topics like religious orientation, political views, shared interests, perhaps even general personality characteristics also, these are all ultimately indicators to determine if you will feel that emotional connection with someone. However, gaining that level of understanding only requires shared experiences, not shared beliefs and opinions, plus spending enough time and effort with someone to understand them. The two major women of my life were rather different people (Alcoholic, nihalistic, unkind, destructive life, similar intellectual/cultural interests, psychological problems VS none-drinker, Christian, ultrakind, life planned out, not particuarly similar intellectual/cultural interest, psychologically sound) yet I loved them both and both claimed to 'love' me back

likes: that they like me.
dislikes: that they dislike me.
neutrals: that they have no opinion of me.

that is all.

i once thought that that was quite an innocent way to think, but some male friend of mine told me it was borderline psychopathic. he said if my only requirement to like someone is if they like me, then i must be very self centred

i took it as a compliment but he meant it as an insult.

whatever indeed.

Dunno if you were including me in the list of "some people," but it's not like my list was well thought out and it also doesn't mean that I will make no execptions, heck I just wrote what an ideal partner would be. Also yes, I have had a partner.

You don't need to speculate; a quick browse of this forum will reveal that many have never had a partner.

My diagnoses - social anxiety disorder and obsessive-compulsive disorder.

I’m no longer involved with the ASD world.

There are people who are truly shallow.
It's not always needed to have deep thoughts to feel at ease and have fun with someone!

Sometimes, it's even much much better!
Relaxing I would say (from the tortured ones)

aren't empathy and humour both nonconducive to being an aspie? well, visible empathy and being humorous anyway from what i hear

That list had nothing to do with being an aspie, and was a list of traits found in their partner. Humor has nothing to do with being on the spectrum at all; understanding the sense of humor might be more of a challenge, though. Might do a touch more reading, there.

I strongly disgust skinny girls, they look total sick, i like girls that dress in training clothes, have a normal body, nice behind, and normal breasts, i would absolutely go out with a not so attractive girl, than a skinny one.
