I just think it's funny how the OP is so flustered over the fact that people don't care about what kind of women he likes. What was he expecting, a "That's really great. You'll find someone like her one day" responses?

So you look for a partner, not so much for how they look, but their cultural background? How they were raised and the cultural beliefs that
some have? looks are just an added bonus?
