Great topic.

I think for me it is passion - meaning if a person is passionate about a particular subject (even a 'special interest'), they tend to know a lot about that subject, and that fascinates me to no end. As a child, I wanted to spend more time with the Encyclopedia Britannica than with other kids (relate?!) so when I meet someone now who's brain resembles a page of the Encyclopedia, it makes me want to learn more.

:)

My immediate reaction is to go for the smart girl, but is that what I really want in a life partner?

Let me put the question another way:

(1) Do I want a wife who will love me and look up to me and see me as the head of the family?
Or...

(2) Do I want a competitor who wants the last word? Who makes more money than I? Who thinks her career is as important or more important than mine?

Seriously. Think about that.
Neither.

I would want someone who was interesting for more than the time it took to have sex and whose opinion of me wasn't mostly dependent on the value of bank accounts or my ability to provide her food and money.

Why do you do this crap man? You talk in ryme, metaphores, all that crap. Just like little_tigger. There is nothing wrong with that. However, you might want to veer away from that if you want a women.

i understand that i may may make people angry due to the manner in which i speak.
i speak in metaphors often because my mind generates them as a way to reduce the effort needed to convey what i want to say.

i do not understand anyone else's metaphors much, but my mind formulates my own metaphors in order to save me from saying the thousands of words that would be necessary for me to say if i did not use them.

i understand that this website is for autistic people, and i am autistic, but i realize that what i say is rare for an autistic because i generate more metaphors than most autistic people do.

i am sorry if you became bogged in my post, and i am sorry that you do not have the motive power to ignore what i say and roll on over the top of my posts if you find them cumbersome and hard to understand.

i always skip posts i find hard to read and i do not feel any sense of "ripped off-ness" .

it is just a couple of rolls of the mouse wheel that will get me to the next post.

i am trying very hard not to succumb to my oppositional defiant disorder, so i will say politely (but constrictedly) to you that you should ignore my posts in future.

if you do not have a mind like mine, then ignore me. you are in your world and i am in mine, and your territory of mentality is in another world to mine, so just relax and go on with your banter without being snagged like a gnat in the web of my words.

What's wrong with number 2? You seem to have a need to be "better" than your partner. I couldn't care less if a girlfriend of mine made more money than me or whatever.
