I used to care about relationships and love and all that, but after thinking about it for a long time, and being witness to so many, unwanted pregnancies, divorces, and statutory rapes( no seriously), I'm starting to rethink celibacy...

But enough of that, I'm just posting to follow the topic, I'll be single on V-day as well, but I plan on making the most of it watching that Jeopardy match between man and machine(IBM's Watson)!

Although the holiday won't be any different for me in terms of activity, it still doesn't help. Observe the holiday or not, it will still hurt to be reminded that i'm still alone.

Valentine's Day is one of my least favorite, if not my least favorite, days of the year for me. It wouldn't be so bad if I didn't know people that relished Valentine's Day like the second coming of Christmas, seeping pink hearts and mushy well wishes into the surrounding populace, and annoying the every living crap out of the perpetual singles club (aka me). Ooooh how I actually want to be sick that day so I don't have to deal with it.

I've never had any kind of relationship with a female so yeah, I'm sure I'll be single in a couple of weeks. No reason to expect something to happen in the next 2 weeks that hasn't occurred in the last 20+ years.

Uhm, ex-hubby and I didn't celebrate Valentine's Day even back when we were married, so I'm not about to break with tradition.

I am trying to figure out what to do on the day. My idea is to buy some things for myself, spoil myself on the 13th, perhaps some bubble bath, a new DVD, some chocolates. Then hole myself up on the 14th and just enjoy the day. I might listen to my entire Spanish CD until my mind is saturated with Spanish. I will pick myself some flowers so I have my own flowers. Do some beauty treatments perhaps, and do some really awesome cooking, maybe a Thai curry.

Will remain single and love not having to do crap for someone else.
Never was up for all the constant effort needed to maintain a relationship -- much too draining trying to communicate/relate with someone, even if not on a regular basis.

Others are always very far away in relating, no matter how physically close they may be.

and all I got out of my journeys with this problem is this name for it: AS

I'm single now so yes. I will be alone of Valentine's Day again. I work most of the day anyway so I guess that's all right. :/

Cliffnotes version: His mother banned him from speaking to/seeing me and he didn't have the balls to stand up to her and I was tired of waiting around for him. We agreed that it just won't work out right now.

I thought I'd have someone, but as it turns out...... I was just being foolish and kidding myself.

Sorry to hear that :(

Are you sure? What happened?

@Erisad - I'm actually kind of shocked, things seemed to be going so well...

Actually, this stuff with his mother has been going on for three weeks now. So I was kind of expecting this to happen. I was posting more about it in the Adult Issues section too than here. >.>
