Looks are important for men. Now I can't say which looks are important for what man. But generally, that's the case. And if you find some dude who says looks aren't important, he's an exception, not the rule.

My girlfriend is not that attractive at all but I still love her because of what she is on the inside. I can care less about her looks.

I'd wager that most Aspies who say they aren't at all bothered about a woman's (or man's!) looks on some level are lying. They certainly matter to me and it plays a part, though it wouldn't be the be the start, beginning and end as with many regular people.

looks matter to me but they are not the #1 criteria in my attraction to someone. i expect that looks would matter to my partner as well. that's not to say that my mate should look like a stereotypically hot person or that he/she should want me to "perfect", but that person needs to be hot in my eyes and i want to be hot in his/her eyes.

in my experience, love makes a person appear more attractive. the things that look like "flaws" to other people are what make the subject even more good-looking to a person in love.

I always hear people say it's not looks that matters, but personality, etc. That's true to a point, but for me, if I'm not attracted to a woman's appearance, I'm never going to get to know her personality because I won't be motivated to talk to her. If you see a woman (or man) and all you know about that is that you're not attracted to them, then you don't have anything else to base your opinion of them on.
