Are you there now? Perhaps you could chat with someone on facebook chat or MSN, that might be fun... I know what you mean, I go places a alone lot too. I need to find a way to change that.

Yes, I'm still there. I've had my nose stuck to the iPad the entire time as usual. The food is awesome though! I really shouldn't let these situations bother me so much...

Why do you feel like you don't belong?

FTR, I never feel like I belong, no matter where I am. Alone or not.

Oh well, perhaps it is just a phase, a sort of period of time where you are between meeting people. I am thinking of trying a few things to meet people myself but I am feeling like i dont have the courage to try...

Mexican food is great. A place with burritos opened up at the mall, I might try it one day.

Not a New Yorker, I'm alone, and I am autistic.

I'll be alright, just had some setbacks on the personal front and I'm letting them get to me...

World Maker Faire tomorrow! :)

And I might even have IRL WP company! :)

Yeah, I  NY - but LA is still "home", especially since my kids live there...

NY isn't all it's cracked up to be. I've lived in the greater NY area my whole life, and I've only been into the city... maybe... 8 times? (and half of those were school trips...)

Grisha, you're not alone as long as you have a way to the Internet and WP, we're here. New York City is a big melting pot of all kinds of people and you belong just as much as anyone else does, don't think otherwise. :)

Thanks! :)

Actually, I'm on the train to Maker Faire and it's wall-to-wall nerds - I definitely fit in here...

This is an interesting thought Don't know if I'd go it alone and haven't had a chance to find out as custodial parent to 4 children I honestly don't know that I would go out often alone Perhaps once in awhile Right now in life nearly never alone so alone sounds okay! I think I'd actually enjoy that and hope you do now!

Have fun!

I never liked NYC, and not because of my New England roots.

The place just seems too crowded and crazy for my blood. Too ruthless to survive out there.

"how many in your party?"
"one, just me"
"is there a single rider?"
"based on double occupancy"

"ALONE, stop pointing it out"
" I'd prefer not to be".
" I'll avoid any situation where its apparent".

Grisha and Blueroses, I spend my time going back and forth between Lancaster, PA and Manhattan. I was born in New York, but grew up in Lancaster for the most part. I'm more or less NT, but I can twitch and squirm with the best of em. Two reasons I'm on this forum: I'm trying to figure out how to approach an AS guy I'm interested in, and also learning as much as I can about the experience of the child who I currently care for in NYC. If either of you wants to get together in your respective towns for lunch, spelunking, rattlesnake harassing, or creeping around peoples' living room windows at night dressed like giant squirrels, let me know. I don't talk a lot, I almost never think that other people are strange, and I rarely eat babies without provocation. PM me if you'd like to get together some time!
