But, chances are, you don't even know what 'meaningful' means, so that's just fine for you and you'll think you're on top of the world. Assume everyone else is bound by the most primitive of instincts and you yourself will have the depth and awareness of a monkey.

tl;dr One-dimensional people easily fall for each others' games, and can't perceive how shallow they are because they can't comprehend that people more complex than themselves exist (and the depth that these people are capable of connecting on).

I never really had any trouble with looks, phobia or depression as much as anxiety triggers. I think I'm traversing one of these grey areas, since although I do enjoy being sociable and chasing girls as much as the next guy, I'm usually busier trying to permanently fix my socioeconomic situation rather than haphazardly take advantage of it...

lately on this thread, many posters have been whistling past the graveyard, IOW refusing to acknowledge that no matter if it is called "alpha" or something else, there are people who suck out all the air in the room for the rest of us, people who are "more equal" than the rest of us, and they have to be described with one term or another.

No, alphas are just leaders who the same gender subconsciously likes. But we're nice people. Not just anyone can be an alpha. No need to be dominant either. It's the kind of thing that you can hook up with a bunch of strangers (of the same gender). Being selfish and rude will just offend the pack and will make bully. Only people with low self-esteem will do it but it's easy to change. None of you have probably ever seen an alpha since they're so rare.

it goes way beyond being "really good at what they do" to include spiritual mastery and selflessness. these people radiate agape. these people MAKE you want to follow them. they are like jesus.

good ol' fido or fifi don't give a hoot if you can't afford to drive a Mercedes, they still love you just the same even if you drive a yugo. to me, that is an improvement over homo sapiens.

Well, the OP said at the beginning that instead of using preconceptions he'd basically define the concept of "alpha", and what he said sounded similar than this. I like this definition, it is something worth striving for

It basically got it right other than the gender thing. But it is not something you could achieve. It either is or isn't. Just be yourself, it's what was intended, it's what you're happiest being.

Why can't an aspie be the alpha in a group of NT's, or NT's and aspies together? Who says that only NT's get to be the alpha in an NT setting?
