Then cover yourself in Axe.... for the Axe effect."

I think undateables is pretty much a freak show to gawp at people in an exploitative and belittling manner. The participants in the shows are not selected or portrayed as people, but as freaks/ret*ds - things to shock, laugh, cringe at or even feel pity for.

I think the style of the show is absolutely portrays/propagates negative stereotypes about those with anything other than the mundane NT somatype depicted as the 'normal person' in mass media etc... The show is effectively singling out at making fun of anyone who does not fit the mundane status quo.

People have quirks, lots of them. I would like to see a programme which involved a much wider variety of people who have relationship difficulties due to pyschological/behavioural quirks. These should include people who are seen as successful/confident/sexy/fashionable/creatives/intellectuals. Many such people are autistic or have other interesting oddities in their behaviour.

Does it work? Do the participants end up getting dates?

I can't see how doing a show of pity would change the society and convince the girls (or guys) to date the person in question. I never watched the series, but do they bring results or just gather sympathy?

The contributors on the show do get dates, and some have enjoyed relationships after the show has been broadcast. For some contributors the experience of being on the show has been beneficial for improving their confidence in social environments.

A person's desire to be on the show is very much down to the individual, for some it will be a rewarding experience, but others may not enjoy the attention they receive. If anyone would like to have a chat about the show, just send me a PM and I can chat (with no obligation to move the process forward)

thanks.

It's some kind of body-spray / deodorant / stink-cloaker.

The ingredients are rather toxic, and it's typically worn by teenage boys.

A lynx is a type of wild cat.

So perhaps the idea is "Do you want to smell like a wild cat ? Then wear lynx"

Its axe if you are not from the uk I think.

Anyhow someone on the first season(not uploaded here by tequila) put way too much on for his first date. People found it hilarious

It was called Ego before in South Africa, before they consolidated the brand name to Axe.

I was harsh on Richard, because... like Tequila I cringed at his behaviour. I was so critical of it. I realised that I was pretty much like this guy. It helped me, make peace with myself. :P

Maybe it's a huge lapse of judgment, but giving consideration to this.

I just get whatever is on sale whenever I run out of it.

So far I ve gone through two of the latest "playboy" ones and one from adidas that was quite surprising to see on sale(bloody cashier made me go check its price because the machine was giving the original price and she didnt believe it was half priced) this year

Basenotes.com. And Amazon/Cheapsmells.

Hop to it. (You'll need tela if you're on some of the more expensive ones from Basenotes. Apparently Green Irish Tweed by Creed is also good.) :D

I skimmed through the shows to see the bits showing aspergers which is what interests me. but im not interested in the people with other deformities.

As far as aspergers goes, being a condition that affects cognition, its much more subtle. There are those of us who would be weirder if we were able to live a sheltered life like Richard. but we live in the real world, so we learn to act normal during the day and unwind later when no ones around. Its a skill. I think your participants are inevitably going to be aspies who don't have this skill. A big part of acting normal is to never, ever, appear on a TV show that implies you're not normal.

People will have a few deformities, you can't simply ignore them, they're human too.

The biggest impairment would be psychological so regardless of whether you think you like someone or not, there will always be someone else, to question your better judgement.
