Imo when it comes to cis people, extreme youth can make a male androgynous and extreme age can have the same effect on women.
Yup! I remember Justin Bieber when he first started singing. At that time, he looked extremely androgynous.

I find aspie cis men don't age massively either. This offends most of them because they long to be more masculine and mature looking. For me, I think they look 18-23 not 'about 12' which is just a ridiculous insult thrown out at anyone who looks young. As long as the aspie man remembers to shave, I find them attractive & they're more likely to be my maturity/experience level than a neurotypical guy their own age.
This is 50/50 for me. When I was young, I looked like a hideous monster. I knew it because no girls wanted to be with me. I used to compare my face to a rhinoceros's butt, and always cursed myself out when walking passed mirror. (Out loud if alone, and silently if near other people.) After age 25, women started to show interest in me, so I must have started to look better. Probably because I lost my baby-face features, and took on a more aged, weathered look. So I totally loved looking older. One couple in their 60's I talked to on a cruise I took at age 29, said I looked 35.
Today, I'm starting to see the opposite happen. People, both men and women, now say I look younger than my real age, even though I have visible gray hair, lost 20% of my hair to begin with, and have a few wrinkles if you look closely. I'm 37 going on 38, but now, many people I say I look between 30 and 35. Colleagues even said that. I take it as a compliment every time, considering how "30 to 35" is seen as a "mature" age. Plus, I like women in their 20's, so looking closer to their age is a nice bonus. A 28-year-old women will be more willing to date me if I
look 34, even if she knows my real age.
young as aspies though.
And straight women typically don't want someone who 'looks about 12' any more than a guy wants a woman who's 'getting on a bit'.
It's a sex neutral thing. I went through an awful phase where everyone who hit on me was either underage or gave off creepy vibes. I even had some creepy stranger ask my age when I was 21 and say 'you look younger, that's hot' when he himself looked middle aged... Like um how young do you want a 21 yo to look?
Maybe he meant 18-20 but...
At the risk of stereotyping gay men (this is a stereotype for all sexualities of men so it's not homophobic), guys tend to like younger guys more than women like younger men. Idk how this holds out for lesbians - whether women long for mummy figures & female silver foxes or not. It fits in with guys who want young 20 something yo girlfriends though.
