well I think I'm nice because I care about people...even if I don't know you-I love helping and I've spent the more of 12 years doing volunteer work and what not :D it's been a good thing for me...
now I think that makes me nice

Replace this with,

I think I'm nice because I hate people...even if I don't know you-I love killing and I've spent the more of 12 years doing violence and what not :D it's been a good thing for me...
now I think that makes me nice

See any significant difference in the argument?

Look, I have no reason to believe that you are
NOT a nice person, perhaps even by MY standards,
but I haven't met anyone whom I would consider
wholly good.

What's fundamentally better about helping vs. harming?

helping makes the world better-harming hurts people and makes them sad

I'll agree with the latter (for most people - some thrive on being hurt)
But, all the same, I'm unconvinced that you have any insight into the
true 'good' as it were. Neither do I, but for aesthetic reasons, I believe
that destruction is perfection.

I helped an old-lady with her groceries at the checkout today.
Usually would not, but the checkout girl was really fit.
Not that i had any chance, she was much too young for me.
(The checkout bird, not the old-lady.)

Wait, and see how things work out with her and her boyfriend. In the meantime... quit pining and keep your options open. You can still go after other girls... you never know, maybe one of them will turn out to be more suited to you.

Beautifully and honestly put.
I would actually probably have
kept myself from helping the
old lady on moral grounds here
though - as my intentions would
be questionable. Right makes
might and all.
