MY QUESTION WOULD BE :

Could you guys be friends with someone of the opposite sex that you were attracted to, but they said they strictly just wanted to be friends?

Or would you remain friends always thinking that there could be a chance this person may change their minds?

Angela: the underwear thing is known as a "wedgie."

"Noogie" is a euphemism for making out, and for sex.

If I like somebody as a friend, and I'm not married, I might HOPE that she would be attracted to me--but if she isn't, I still think the friendship would be worth it, even if there is no possibility of "going further."

And you are not attracted to them in the slightest? And would it be the same if you didn't have your boyfriend?

I have been with boyfriend with 2 years so I was single for a year while I lived with them.

Nope no attraction even though they are good looking lads. They have become more like brothers

didn't read all but...

If I see the women and I get sexual thoughts then no can't be friends. But I can be friends with a woman and I have several.

But I suppose other way round I am not attracted but they are to me and want to have some *fun* with me. Not sure I will say no :S

So to sum up yes as long as there is no sexual attraction by either party.

I am actually trying to decide if the girl I met as friends the other day fancies me or not . As we wanted to meet as we going to be playing WoW expansion together and been chatting about games and stuff for ages. I was getting the hint that she wants friends with benefits . Well I'll find out soon enough she coming to my house for a gaming night in a couple of week and there will be drinking and just me and her. Hope I'm wrong don't want to hurt her feelings and ruin a potential friendship or worst case do something stupid 8O .

I've heard "nookie," too.

A "noogie" could also be when:

1. You rub the top of someone's head with your knuckle hard.

2. You do the same thing to some other part of the body (but it's usually the top of the head, though).

I also have some memory of "giving a noogie" meaning giving someone a "hickey."

So you're saying that if you didn't like someone's personality you wouldn't be attracted to them, so by reasonable extension you wouldn't want them as your friend either. People whose personalities you like you are more likely to find attractive. Or to put it another way....you're only interested in having women in your life that you are physically attracted to? You wouldn't keep a women around as a friend if she wasn't attractive (to you, rather than "classically attractive")?

LOL....I've been given "noogies" on parts of the body other than the head.

Could be a regional, New York thing. Like "sliding pond," meaning a slide in a playground.

"Sliding Pond" is rarely encountered outside of NYC (outside of Queens, really).

I'm with rdos and others who've mentioned that it's entirely possible to remain platonic friends with the opposite sex if there is no initial attraction (physical or emotional).

I will say that I ended up removing myself from several friendships in the past due to uncontrollable attraction (on my part). Attraction turned into obsession, and that's creepy for most NT guys.

Anyway, I'm married with kids now and avoid contact with men whenever possible because--let's be honest, folks--we are not always 100% conscious of our own desires. Self-awareness can be tricky and often elusive for many of us.

Sorry, but you have somewhat confused me here! I never said i wouldnt be friends with them! and no its not a reasonable extension as it makes no sense in reference from what i have said other than an attempt on manipulation with words. As for the rest of your statement, i think i have clearly answered that, so no point repeating.

I thought that the answers were all incredibly stupid. Many people I have gotten along with really well are male. Some of them were married. When people started pointing out that I seem to relate better to men it made me feel uncomfortable, but this was before my diagnosis and it appears to be a common thing with female aspies and it may also be because I'm asexual. Are people really that sexual? They want to do it with every member of the opposite sex unless they're gay or ugly? I know I'm not going to be in a swimsuit calendar any time soon. No wonder the world is such a mess.

Why stop at friends, maybe everyone secretly wants to do it with their own siblings and parents and sons and daughters and... :eew:

Yes, of course they can! I met a woman on a a Great Smoky Mountains social networking site about a year ago. We quickly became very close friends. I met her and her husband last week in our favorite place, and we had an amazing time. Thankfully, I hit it off with her husband exceptionally well, also.

She is a very, very attractive woman! But it takes more than physical attractiveness to turn me on. She doesn't possess enough of the qualities I'm looking for in a partner.

Im sorry if you thought my answers were incredibly stupid, but they make sense to me even if i may not have articulated it in a way others understand, I am who i am.

It's natural: people do get attracted to each other.

it doesn't make them perverts or sexpots.

But we are civilized people, and don't have to "fulfill" the "desire" all the time.
