Women are more superficial then men.
That is a scientific fact.

Oh, nice topic. Wish I'd seen it sooner.

For me it kinda varies. It's not just length, there is some style element to it too. The things girls do with their hair can express a lot about their personality. I like it when a girl has a really cool hairstyle (dye and trendy haircuts are all just fine), but it's not necessary. A nice simple hairstyle, well kept at any length can work if it really goes with the person.

One thing I really hate, when a girl straightens her naturally curly hair or curls her naturally straight hair. It doesn't look natural and if they do it every day it begins to look like it's been fried and just generally unhealthy (and that kinda turns me off).

I don't especially have a thing for hair and I hate to sound shallow, but I can actually think of more than a few girls that I've either not considered or rejected for something like that last thing (but usually those people just generally had all around bad taste).

As far as the given examples, I think I'd have to go with the one with the personality. Both hairstyles are okay as long as they work for the person. For a variety of other reasons I could almost go either way.

A decade or so later, I've had to trim hers many times so that she wouldn't pull it when she sat on it, but mine refuses to get past waist level. And when she was pregnant, it grew at maybe an inch and a half a month.

I wonder why your hair grew so much
while your wife was knocked up.

Thanks, Cal, I amended my wording.

Hers grew at an inch and a half a month.

Mine got shorter, as I tore it out trying to find positions that still worked.

Be careful shaving your head. When my ex broke up with me a number of years ago, I had this thick, wavy dirty-blonde hair that came down long in the front. She always loved my hair, so a I shaved my head to remove that reminder of her hands running through it. When it cam back, it was 20% gray. I was too young to have gray hair. Maybe it was just the stress from losing my best friend, but I am pretty sure shaving it all off had something to do with it.

As for preference, it really does matter. Some girls look much better with long hair, while some look great with shorter hair. There are uses for hair when being intimate, if you're into those kind of things. So that's another factor that could affect your mate.

Actually, girls are very superficial maybe more than guys or the same

They don't care so much about looks as much as men, that's all im saying.

Just different flavors of superficiality.

i made a post about this elsewhere....

but this is the type of predictable pattern that gets guys in trouble with their gals when they get busted "looking" at some other girl...

girls do this too, but it's way harder to catch cause their preference pattern is harder to discern.... guys are easy to figure out what they're gonna be oggling at any given time, lol!

(straight) girl on girl oggling is different in nature though......

i tend to oggle more at girls i know my man would oggle at..... i'll often wait and see how long it takes before my man sees her on his radar and starts to oggle her.... lol

it is easy to get to know someone's tastes in the opposite sex

It doesn't matter to me. It's all about how she wears it. The confidence she has in it... the knowledge that she's smoking hot.

She wasn't straight though. :P

She would point some out to me,
as she learned my taste. But, her
own was towards more masculine
girls.

it's manhandling with your eyes! when you check someone out and then you snap out of it only to realize your tongue is lolling and your eyes are dry from forgetting to blink cause you found someone so attractive you just couldnt look away

well, that may be an exaggeration
