Aren't these statistics for world, not US, and not independent variables?
Global statistics, yes.

Please feel free to re-work the data and the maths, as I had only 5 minutes to do it all myself.

Statistical approach to dating has been not long ago discussed here:

The point is, dating at random is rarely successful.
But Americans are common in America, Christians are common in churches, young high school graduates are often met at universities... so one with the preferences above might try e.g. joining a university church group to meet people fitting all these criteria.

Once met, there is a whole big topic of attracting one, though.

Ay, there's the rub!  To attract others, one must first be attractive, which not only involves static appearance, but dynamic behavior and general attitude.

According to this profile, I'm supposed to experience great difficulty in getting dates, enough difficulty to remain a virgin for a long time. This did not occur with me.

What do you think your key to success was?

Good point. "Birds Of A Feather Flock Together" as the saying goes.

I feel I'm using/saying expressions a lot more in the last year or so compared to how much I did before. I wonder why :?

My key, really, is “not believing the hype.”

Not believing all the crap that’s said about nerds and such. Not believing in high school crap beyond high school.

Finding novel approaches, and being friends to women. Most women like guys who can be their friend, instead of just being a f-buddy.

Depends what you mean by struggle. I think everyone, neuratypical and the like "struggles" with dating. I hate to say it though, but in teens and 20s there are too many women interested in the "badboy/cool guy" archetype. For some reason, in my mid-30s my confidence skyrocketed and Im able to secure several dates for myself :P

i never liked it but it feels like or seems like, a mans social-skills have a much bigger impact on his dating life or his ability to get a girlfriend, a lot more than the other way around
